Life in Galgotias College

I've applied for Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology and I've been attending it for the last 3 years. I haven't availed of any quota for admission. I am a general category student and I don't get any privileges such as any quota. As my college is affiliated with AKTU, so for admission the criteria are to pass the UPSEE and you should have a minimum age of 18 years. It was a very rushed process. There was very poor management. There was no crowd management.

I choose this course because I was interested in the field of automation and control. I've aspired to be an Instrumentation engineer. The talking about the faculty-student ratio of my branch then there is 1 teacher for every 8 students. All the faculty members are well qualified, most of them have a doctorate. Term exams were always at times and it's really very hard to pass.

From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Placements in our college are pretty good. TCS, INFOSYS, Wipro and cognizant are some of the companies that visited our college. The highest packages are provided by Byjus that are around 10 LPA. 85% of students get their placement. I'll do preparation for a government job after getting the degree.

During my college life, there's been no fees hike at all. The cost to study is affordable in comparison to the other private colleges around. It is affordable. I've received the scholarship provided by our state government during my college life. The scholarship I get is UP Scholarship.

Life on the campus is pretty well. There are some issues in the infrastructural design. There are several fests take place during the month of March and October and November such as UNIFEST, Acoustic Nights and departmental fests. We get mostly all the books we need for our curriculum in the library. There are several sports such as basketball, football and cricket are played on the campus. There are lots of clubs in the college for students run by the students such as Galgotias Music Club, Guardian Club, Martial Arts club, Lingo Freaks, and many more.

There are not many Hostel facilities provided. For the room we're provided with a bed, a table, a cupboard and a chair, that's all. There is no attached washroom in the rooms. Everyone has to use a common washroom. Meals are not good in taste and the menu is repetitive. The registration process for the hostel is hectic as the hostel doesn't have a greater capacity as it should be so you have to be very lucky to get a room there. The hostel is not affordable as there are many other hostels which provide better facilities with lower price.
