Tripura Institute of Technology Agartala is a good college to get admission

I have only applied for the Diploma Engineering Program in Tripura Institute of Technology Agartala and I got admission in Diploma in Computer Science and Technology which is a 3 years course. There is no special quota for getting admission. But there is some reservation for the SC/ST candidates. As I am a General category student, I could not avail any reservation for admission. The main eligibility criteria to get admission in Diploma Engineering Program is passing the Secondary (Madhyamik) Examination with 60% or above marks. The admission process is so simple. The candidates have to apply for the specific Program and a list of the selected students is out within a few days. There is no counseling for the Diploma Engineering course.

I was good enough in Mathematics and Science subjects and also I had a keen interest in Computer Science and Engineering from the very first time. That's why I opted for Computer Science. There are so many students in this college in Diploma and Degree Programs. In our Computer Science and Engineering Department, the faculty: student ratio is 1:40. Qualifications of the Faculty members are good, some of them are M.Tech Degree holders and some are Ph.D. holders. They are very good as teachers. They give teaching in an efficient way so that the students can understand all the topics clearly. But some of the teachers don't take the classes regularly, they often miss the classes, they take classes as their choice. There are two exams every semester, and are the Internal Exam conducted by the college and the Final Exam conducted by the Tripura University.

The average fee for the Diploma Engineering Program per semester is 4000. Normally, there is no fee hike policy. There is no special financial assistance for the poor students. Whatever the fees are, the students have to pay this. But the fees are comparatively less than the other colleges. The students have the opportunity to get a lot of scholarships like Post Metric Scholarship for SC/ST students, B.R.Ambedkar Merit Scholarship, etc. This college has a poor campus placement, naturally, the good and renowned companies do not visit the campus. As this is a State government college, the companies don't give any importance to the students of this college. The students get the job by their own efforts.

The Tech Fest like ISHANIYA is conducted in the college every year in the month of April - May, and the students enjoy themselves in such kind of Technical Fests. The campus is so nice and the design of newly built Degree blocks is so beautiful. The students enjoy so much on the campus. There is also a good library where all the essential books for study purposes are available. The students can easily access these books and get benefits from them. The classrooms are good but the classrooms provided for Diploma Students are so bad. There are no hygienic conditions at all in the classrooms. Even The classrooms are full of dust all days, they do not take any step to clean the classrooms for a long time. There is a lot of sports activities and extracurricular activities among the students. The students keep enjoying playing cricket, football, tennis, badminton, etc. There is some social group and clubs too where some of the students are involved.
