Ramthakur College, an affiliated college of the University of Tripura, is a co-educational institution and teaches at the graduate level in different subjects.
The College was founded in 1967 in Town Pratapgarh by Late Pramod Ranjan Bhatta. The College presently has Humanities, Science and Commerce streams of nearly 3000 students. It responds to the hopes and dreams of boys and girls in the sub-urban areas of Agartala.The college is accredited by NAAC with ‘B’ Grade.

Ramthakur College Admissions
The criteria for admission to various programs of study are considered on the basis of merit as per guidelines of Tripura University and reservation policy of the Government of Tripura for SC/ST candidates.
How to Apply?
- Notification of entry to all programs are published centrally in leading local/state daily newspapers in the first week (tentative) of June by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Tripura.
- Candidates can apply offline by going to the college and buying a form.
- Separate merit lists shall be drawn up for candidates in the General Category, Scheduled Tribe Category, and Scheduled Caste Category for each course of study under B.Sc. and B.Com.
- The final preference list of candidates shall be drawn up by the College Admission Committee on the basis of merit in their respective categories.
Ramthakur College Scholarships
- Post Metric Scholarship for LIG Students: is a grant for students whose parent/guardian have income less than Rs. 60,000/-per year in the amount of Rs. 90 p.m. Hosteller (Host.) and Rs.50 p.m. As a Day Scholar (D.S.) for a 10-month academic year.
- Post Metric Scholarship for Merit-cum-Means Students: Merit-cum-Means scholarship is available to well-deserved students with (55-60) percent marks at the +2 level
- Post Metric Scholarship for Girls: There is a scholarship for girls students, obtained at least 45% marks at the +2.
- Post-Metric Scholarship to SC Students: is a scholarship for students in the program caste (SC) group whose parent/guardian income is less than Rs.2.50,000/-per year
- Post Metric Scholarship for ST Students: is a scholarship for students in the scheduled tribe (ST) group whose parent/guardian whose income is less than Rs.2.50,000/-per year
- Post Metric Scholarship for OBC Students: There is a grant for students in the OBC group whose parent/guardian whose income is less than Rs. 1.000.000/-per year.

I applied to a few colleges including Maharaja bir Bikram college ,Bir vikram memorial College ,Netaji college and Ramthakur College. I pick this college over the other essential because of his responsible charges structure study government offices and educational program that is successful hypothetical and viable learning. Perfect climate and great situation record edition effect my choice. The admission process was quite fast. Nuclear guideline and ideal updates making the interaction smooth and sensible.

This college admission process is very good.first of all students complete their 12th board and he/she collect one admission form in the college and we are fillup this form and submit in the college.and college also offer admission on the basis of marks obtained on class 12 mark and they don't conduct eny entrance exm.

- The college is situated in the middle of the agartala city , best for transportation, students are comfortable for having tution besides the institute.
- There are lots of trees in the campus area, everywhere is greenary, having a vast playground where the students love to play various games like cricket, football etc. the buildings are also very good.
Dislikes
- Some of the professor are arrogant . Also the non teaching staff are arrogant, they always tries to ignore the students questions.
- In the library there is lack of books , the library rooms are so tiny that not even 50 students can enter in the whole library.all books are not available for anytime . The librarian arrogantly treats every student.
Admission:
The students are shortlisted by the mark of their previous board examination. Students can easily find the notifications on the tripura University official website.there is reservation process for the sc and st students. We have to give internal exam for each semester and a semester final exam. In my opinion there should be a entrance exam for the students to get admission.

You have to score at least 60 % score in your 12th board exam to get into the honours course, you don't have to score that much to enroll in a BSc pass You can find the application form in the online admission portal of Tripura University. No application fees.

If you are a science student and wanted to take admission in BSc course then you have to apply for it, when I took admission it was all online ,previous year it was offline so it depends how the Tripura university wants to take admission of students Yes their is benifits of reservation for SC,ST,OBC, but not for EWS nor minorities They should make it all online because student live far from college need not to take trouble for admission

Admission:
Basically when we got admission, in that time there was covid 19,in that period no body was not allowed to go and submit the physically needed papers for admission purposes. So we given online admission form including all necessary important documents that are provided from the universities. After submission they have given the merit list according to the subject marks cut off, in which mine subject cut off was 70%,and I stood 80% in my science subject for which I was easily selected for my zoology subject.

- I also like the behaviour of the teachers of my college.

- I don't like the toilets of the college.
- I don't like the security check everyday
Admission:
The admission process was good .The Admission process was according to the marks i.e merit basis.We didn't Need to give exams for the admission process. The teachers are very Helpful .But I think Our College needs to develop in Sports and other Skillfull Activities.

- The education level is not so good as compared to the delhi university
- The collage infrastructure is not so good.
Admission:
Since Ramthakur college is government degree college under tripura government, for admission it doesn't take any entrance exam. The one and only way to get admission in the college is on the basis of your 12 exam.In our time the cutoffs to get history honours in the Ramthakur college is 260 out of 500. I scored 397 marks in 12 standard so I easily get a chance to admit in this college. The admission process is totally offline, we have to carry marksheet, migration and character certificate and other personal documents like aadhaar card with photocopy. The 40% reservation benefits is for sc st students.
