Remarks

I was set to take a b.sc in Biotechnology only. For this subject in bsc, there are not many colleges available. I applied to st. Xavier's college and in Institute of Genetic Engineering. I got the call from IGE before so I took admission here only. Another reason for choosing here was because IGE is the first college in its state to teach this subject, so the teachers are extremely knowledgeable. I didn't realize face any problems in admission. I opted for online admission. It was absolutely hassled free required percentage in HS or equivalent is 60% and there is not really an age limit. The young the better after 18+ age.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Examinations are absolutely on time both theory and practicals. The exams are moderately hard. It is not difficult to pass. But it takes real hard works to have a great grade. If the paper is written, it's easier in a way since the paper is made by a college so u know what types of questions msy come. U might get a lot of common questions too. When it's an online MCQ test, it's sometimes harder causes the paper is set by the university so there might be things that u don't have any idea about. But its mcq so it works out some way. Teachers are helpful during exams..they give supportive suggestions.

Internships Opportunities

2

It's a college related to genetics and medicine. Although internship and job offers are very few, there are some nice companies that provide internships once in a while. Mostly medicine manufacturers and researchers labs give internships, like Ranbaxy etc more company names are available on the main college website.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college does not provide any special sort of scholarship for students but they will provide information for government scholarship schemes so that the student can apply to that, like kanyashree scholarships, bikash bhavan scholarships etc there is no on-campus job schemes or stipend systems in college.

Campus Life

4

There is no specific name for the fests but the college does a fest at least annually even a short one. There are a bunch of workshops students can attend. There is something to attend to every month. The library is great. Books on all courses are available in good number and quality. Also, they have a digital lab, so any information or book books not available in the physical library can be found in a virtual library. They also have journals both hard and soft copies. There are sports events of cricket, badminton etc. There is a FB page, acting as both a social group and a fun website for students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum in this college is uoto date, very relevant and with at par with the real world scenario, we learn about disorders, different schools of psychology and a lot more. There is a perfect balance of practical and theory, which is needed in psychology. In terms of improvement, there is always room for it, as of now there arent any suggestions from my side. The frequency of exams are fine, they give us time to prepare however I feel like as, according to the NEP, the semesters should be 6 months long but here they are cutting it short.
