Honest Review of the IET

I availed the OBC quota as I got 69th rank in it and 248 in general. I applied for both Government colleges for MCA i.e. KNIT Sultanpur and IET Lucknow. There were 4 rounds of counseling. In the first round, I got the KNIT and kept getting that for 3 rounds. I was hoping to get IET. And Luckily got in the last round.

I choose this course because I had an interest in the computer field. So i want to excel my skills in it. There is a maximum of 5-6 subjects of ours each handled with its own faculty and 64 students in the course. The faculty is very educated and qualified but the way of teaching is so poor. Due to the Covid situation, we're getting online classes. They dont take classes that seriously. Their prior focus is on BTech students as the college is known for BTech.Term Exams are good. They're not very difficult to pass. Each can get very decent marks and Percentages.

Students of MCA use to appear in placements with the BTech students so the ratio is quite poor. Companies mostly take the more skilled ones. So if a student is as skilled as btech one. They can give tough competition in the placement. My plans are to try for the placement. Otherwise, I will try for the off-campus placement.I heard IETians can get off campus that easily as compared to campus ones.

In terms of fees as it is a government college. It doesn't cost very much. Due to covid, it cost me 64775 for the first year. Hostel and mess fee is not included. Including that it may cost upto 94000. Most of my classmates even got the scholarship of around 52000 although I haven't got the scholarship due to insufficient funds. As we're living in a covid period. I haven't stayed that much on campus. There are many clubs that involve students to participate in their fields like singing, art, gaming, sports, photography, and many more. Students can develop and live their skills to the fullest.I heard many fests are organized.
