Remarks
The admission process is tied to the NMAT score, NMIMS releases a cutoff score every year including section cutoff similar to CAT. Once the results are announced a GD/PI slot is sent to the candidate, my process happened on the campus as it was pre-covid. On the day of the GD/PI, we are broken down into groups of 10-12 for the GD which was for 12-15 mins, post which there is a PI round. The PI round revolves around the SOP and profile of the candidate, for me most of the questions were around work ex and how MBA ties in with that experience.
Course Curriculum Overview
All the faculty come with strong academic backgrounds and Ph.D.'s or in the process of pursuing Ph.D.'s in the subjects that they teach. Term exams happen at the middle of the trimester and then at the end. Exams are of high level and focus more on understanding and application of concepts rather than just writing theory.
Internships Opportunities
Please find this information directly from the college website. The projects offered to students range from Sales & Marketing to Analyst roles at Tech/Fin firms. For people interested in operations options are available but are limited as compared to Finance and Marketing.
Placement Experience
Summer placements begin with the start of the 2nd trimester and final placements begin from the 5th trimester. Almost all kinds of companies ranging from finance firms, FMCG/FMCD companies to Digital/IT/Consulting companies show up for the placement season. More details regarding placements can be read from the placement report published by the college.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is similar to other B-schools but does factor in the cost of staying in Mumbai as the world starts to open up post the Covid situation. Relatively the fee has remained the same in the last 2 years, the cost of the hostel is separate from the course fee and on the higher side. No scholarship and financial assistance availed.
Campus Life
The library has access to a lot of books on all management-related subjects on top of that students get access to databases like Statista as well as access to MOOC content by HBS. The calendar year is full of fests such as Paragana(especially for 1st-year students to help them network), Arcadia (classic B school division wars) and Illuminar (Industry connect and management fest)
Interview Experience
Topics for GD range from situational case studies to abstract topics. There is no way of knowing what kind of GD to expect as this changes every year. For the PI it is very important to be extremely thorough with all points mentioned in the CV and SOP as the interviewers can fixate on any of the points written. Be authentic in your answers and be confident even if you do not know the answer, the PI is a test of character and the ability to handle pressure more than anything. In order to prepare for GD/PI I took help of my coaching institute (IMS).
