B.Sc. (Hotel Management) from Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management Chandigarh

Admission through Nchmct JEE exam. College is allotted to only the top ranked candidates, as I got 1574 Rank. You can avail category quota. minimum age 16 and maximum is 26 to enrol. The whole admission process is easy and easily accessible on nchm website.

I was interested in the Front Office department, therefore, chose a hotel management course with, faculty student ratio of 1:20. Every teacher is experienced and is postgraduate. Exam happens twice per semester that is midterm and end term exams. Exams are not too tough to pass, even listening attentively in class alone can get you good scores.

We go for Industrial Training in 5 star hotels as the curriculum of 3rd/4th semester. For 1 whole semester, you have to intern with a 5 star hotel and undergo physical training under all departments of the hotel. The stipend varies from hotel to hotel(rupees 1000-5000 per month). I did my training at The Imperial Hotel, New Delhi at a 1500 rupees stipend. You have to do a total of 17 weeks ( 4 weeks in each department that is KItchen, FnB Service, Housekeeping and Front Office ). You have the options from hotel ITC, IHG, Taj, Oberois, Marriot etc.

Campus placements start in the 5th semester and students are allowed to sit for multiple jobs. Big hotel chains like Marriot, Taj, Oberois, Accor, ITC, McDonald's, KFC, Dominoes etc come for placements. the highest package of 7 lakhs per annum and an average package of 3 lakhs per annum is offered. 100 % placements as mentioned earlier, I was able to secure 2 jobs. I have opted for further studies and become a government Professor.

The whole course fee of 6 semesters comes around 2 lakhs and 80 thousand. The fee is quite justifiable as a whole bunch of practical teaching is involved. Moreover, if you compare with private colleges it is way less and affordable. No province of scholarship, but you can easily secure an education loan as the college is reputed. I got two jobs 1.) Management Trainee in Brand NANDOS(3Lakhs per annum): 2.) The associate level is OCER in Oberois Hyderabad(2.4 Lakhs per annum).

At all festivals, various decoration and themed parties are held. Exciting clubs to get yourself enrolled and enjoy your college life. classes have Air Conditioner and smart boards. Washrooms are clean hygienic. The whole Campus is Wheelchair accessible. Huge Library with many books and magazines. Sports Day held every year which has various sporting events like athletics and team games. The college has various clubs like Kitchen club, FnB club and Organising club which have their own coordinators and student teams.
