All about Nit Jamshedpur

Pros. 1.Awesome placement records across all branches. 2.Near industries which attract a lot of core companies . 3.Fine weather of Jamshedpur. 4.Newly made academic building with all the modern facilities. 5.Mega hostels ,best in Eastern India. 6.Campus area equipped with playgrounds, auditoriums. 7.Clubs like Phoenix represents the college in foreign countries and won prizes. Cons. 1.Nearest airport is Ranchi but railway station is near. 2.Some of the professors are not at par. 3.Not as good NIRF ranking. 4.Some buildings are old. Admission process is based on JEE MAINS score and through JOSAA counseling. I preferred it because of its placement records.

I chose this course because of the placement stats. Faculty is to student ratio is good and all the faculties are Ph.D. holder. Professors are good and helping in nature except few of them. Mid semester and end semester were held timely and just following the notes provided by professors will give you a good CGPA.

You have both on campus and off campus internship opportunities in Nit Jamshedpur. Several students got internships in amazon and got pre placement offered after their internship in third year. Jamshedpur is an industrial town so you get ample amount of internship opportunities in core sector also.

The placement records are just amazing. In these Covid times about 90% eligible students get placed and still placement season in going on. Various companies like Amazon ,Samsung ,Infosys ,wipro, Tata steel ,deloitte ,axis bank, IBM, oracle etc. Visit the college for college placement. Average package of cse is 12-14 lakhs ,for ece 10-12 lakhs and for core branches 7-10 lakhs which is quite good. My plan after getting the degree is to grab a decent package and get settled.

Semester wise tuition fee is 62,500 but fee remission is provided on income criteria. SC/ST student has 100% tuition fee remission. Various scholarships like NSP,FFE are available. You can get details of scholarship programs on official website of Nit Jamshedpur.

The techno management fest OJASS and cultural fest are popularly known fests of Nit Jamshedpur. library is equipped with all the important foreign and Indian journals. There are court for basketball, badminton, tennis and playground for hockey ,football and cricket. There are common rooms for indoor games like table tennis, chess etc. There are different clubs in college run by students like Phoenix ,rays ,daksh, sankalp, revanta, ecoriders etc. and clubs for different sports.

Hostel facilities at Nit Jamshedpur is above par. Students get single room with attached balcony from 2nd year onwards. Mess food quality is not too good ,nor too bad. It consists both veg and non veg meals. You have to register for the hostel at the time of physical reporting to the college.
