I choose Doon university as in Dehradun no other college provides this course i.e. BSc. Eco. Hons. , Students from the different stream( sci. Commerce, art) can pursue this course you just need to clarify the entrance but make sure you have maths or economics in you 10+2 then only your are eligible for the course. As I mentioned above college. Conduct the entrance exam in June- July and for that you have to register yourself. The form is available from May - June,( this time( 2020) due to covid the admission was on the basis of 12th %age). Reason for preference as fewer politics in college ( no political party), good education environment with a good library and other facilities.

I choose this course as I found economics an interesting subject and good scope in future ( opportunity in the various field). The faculty is well qualified with a doctorate in the subject, but the only problem is the fluctuations as the university is providing this course since 2009. So for some subject, there is permanent and experienced faculty but for others, it changes. It's easy to pass in subjects ( if you focus and study what the professor taught in class). Scores= mid-sem+ final-sem+ assignment.

After there 6th and 8th semester Students are eligible for the placement and internship. But Fewer placement opportunities in our course as hardly 2-3 company come for placement, with an average package of 20-25k. My plans are to prepare for competitive exams.

Fee structure =tution fee (7000)+other (6000) in case if you're a hosteller it will hardly cost you 3000 per month which is reasonable. No scholarship if you come under the general category but for ST, SC and OBC, fees are almost half of the the regular fee structure.

The best part is the campus is situated in a beautiful area as it is surrounded by nature. All maintained greenery with a great view and Good infrastructure. Everything is fine the books for the subject are available in the library, daily Newspaper, silent study area, and classroom. On campus, there is a basketball court, volleyball field, football ground cum cricket ground and indoor badminton court and table tennis table. There is NCC for girls in university and Clubs like literature, sports, art and photography, music, drama and dance club. I learned a lot as I took part in all these groups according to my interest. University gives students a chance to show the talent by participating in AIU( North). Then there is the department fest, college fest, Holi and Diwali fest. Also inter-department competition in sports. Students have created some social groups for animals. And environment. Special activity for eco. Hons. Students i.e. survey by ASER.
