St.Mary's college is a very much reputed college in our district.It have a good infrastructure and aesthetics.Also the department of physics was quite good too. Moreover it was close to my house.Also the college have a great hostel facility for both boys and girls

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose physics because I am interested in that subject.The college had a very good physics department and lab facility.The department contains 8 teachers and in our batch, there was 45 students.Qualification to the college was kind of hard as well as the exams.

Class Size: 45Course Fees: INR 5000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internship programs are conducted in our college mainly by programs like ASAP.There is at least 50 students in it and the will get internship to various technoparks in kerala for the time period of one month.Sadly due to covid situation, the internship programs of 2020 have been cancelled

Placement Experience

From the starting of third year (5th semester) Students become eligible for campus placements.However the number of campus interviews are very low.Only two or three companies conducted interviews in our campus.Most of the students pursue higher studies like Msc, MBa or other jobs after graduation.

College Events

Campus life is very good in our college.There is minimum 10 big fests conducted per year not including the celebration of special days like onam and christmas.The college have a big library with a good collection of books.Classrooms are well equipped.Sports club is very much active and conducts tournaments very well every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Cost to study in the college is fairly low.Tution fee are well under 2000 rupees per year.Also the university have a E-grand scholarship program to assist the students which helps a massive percentage of students in our college.Campus interviews are somewhat rare in our college. Although a friend of mine got admission in Wipro via campus interview.

Admission

There was no group discussion or Interview or any kinds of written tests for the admission.The admission process is done via single window method of calicut university website and students are selected on the basis of marks and reservation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Data Science is a rising field in computer science. It has lots of oppurtunities in todays world and easy compared to other fields, which made me choose data science. The curriculum consist of various computer programming languages including Python, R and so on which are vital in the field of data science. There are also experienced faculties for teaching of the programming languages. I personally felt that lab hours are not adequate and also the available hours are also not properly utitlised by some teachers. At the end of each semester we have exams and results are published soon as the exams are over, no lagging compared to other universitites.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.
