Remarks
Good aspects : It has separate labs for each subject. It has a wise range of machines required to perform practical's. Academic curriculum is also very nice. Good and supportive Staff. Bad Aspects : A little poor management Less chances for other activities They need to build a good platform for co-curricular activities. Need to give more chances to outreach the students.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because this gives a broad spectrum which connects biology with technology. This field gives us a chance to come up with new ideas and become a entrepreneur. There is well specialized faculty and they guide us properly towards our goal. There are around 15 specialized teachers and 5 external teachers . Well qualified staff is present in this institute and most of them have achieved PhD in their subjects. Teaching method is also good, they teach us through ppts and refer us books to read and understand the concepts. They also guide us personally if we are having some doubts in the subject. I would rate the teaching as 8/10. We have a semester pattern which goes on every 6 months and have internals which comes twice in each sem. Difficulty level is moderate. Like if a person is clear with the concepts then he can score good SGPA.
Placement Experience
Employment after this course is little hard as you can get good package job after completing masters (MSc) But still you can get internships at biotech companies or pharma companies. My plans are not fixed after this course but mostly i will opt for MSc but the subject is not fixed yet in which i want to specialize.
Fees and Financial Aid
College fees are 70,000/- per year. I personally feel this is a little more than the actual course offers. But still you can get scholarships on your merit or by minority. I got a scholarship of 10000 as I fall in jain minority, through NSP portal. There are very less chances of getting a job by BSc degree but you can study further and acquire specialization by doing m.sc and then you can get a good job. I didn't got any stipend or any job till now from the college.
Campus Life
Annual fest is conducted in the month of December. It is fun and very energetic. Still a lot of improvement needs to be done regarding facilities provided during the fest. Library is quite small but has needy books to read. Classroom is big and has good ventilation and has a capacity of 80 students to sit. I would rate Sports and extra curricular activities as 6/10. There are total 5 clubs that are run by students for eg- cultural, co curricular, academic, social outreach committees.
Interview Experience
You need to pass the entrance exam exam which is been conducted by the Rajiv Gandhi Institute to join the course. Topics asked in the entrance are based on normal 12th class biology and chemistry. The admission process is quite simple. If you crack the entrance you can directly take the admission based on your merit. The staff people are really helpful and cooperative during the admission process. To give these exam I just revised my 12th class biology and chemistry and made my concepts clear.
Other Applied Colleges
VIIT | Engineering
I was more attractive towards biotechnology rather than engineering
