Remarks

I had applied for the FMS- Baroda through my state quota (J&K Migrant) and due to Covid-19, there were fewer students as compared to previous years. The ACPC which is the admission committee in Gujrat had prepared the merit and the counselling was scheduled at L.D College of Engineering, Ahmedabad on 8 November 2021. Mostly the counselling is done in the month of August but due to Covid-19, the counselling was rescheduled for the month of November. Luckily my merit was in the top 4, and I had inquired about the college with my friends and they had suggested me for the FMS-Baroda. Due to Covid-19, the counselling was done on a phone call as it was difficult to travel to Ahmedabad due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course remains the same for all the students (2 mid-semesters and 2 Final semesters) in the first year. The choice of subjects is done in the second year. There are 4-5 college faculty and the remaining faculty are visiting faculty working in different industries. As the class are happening online the faculty to student ratio in the first year is 1:102. The college faculty is PHD Professors and are MBA specialized in the respective subjects. The College got commenced on 7 January for the First Year and the Midsemister were taken in March. As the classes were conducted on the online platform the midsemester exams were also conducted online. The exam pattern was easy and most of the subjects were conducted via quiz of marks 30.

Internships Opportunities

4

Yes, the internship opportunities are offered by the college and the various company which have offered internships are ICICI, SBI, VIBGYOR, Piblitz, Odyssey. The average stipend offered is between 5k-10k.

Placement Experience

3.5

The students are eligible for the placement from the third semester onwards. The Companies which have visited our campus are: ICICI Bank, TCS, HBFC bank the average CTC remain between 4-5 Lakh. As of now, 29 students out of 101 from the Final year have been placed because of the Covid-19 pandemic. My plans are to get placed in a well-reputed company and I am also thinking of starting a business after few years.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure varies for GIA and SFI. I had chosen the college under GIA which is Government aided and the fee structure for the first year for myself was Rs 13000 excluding hostel fees. In the first year, the cost of study including books will come to approximately Rs 2500-3000. I had the J&K state quota and I got the option to select under GIA so the fees were less as compared to SFI (Self-finance).

Campus Life

4.5

The college had an MSF (Management Student Forum) which is run by students and there are various team like a cultural committee, placement committee, Sports, Media, Marketing. There is a President, Vice-President, Treasurer all of them are students from the Ist year students which conduct the various fest from time to time. As I have chosen Marketing as my specialized subject and our seniors had a group Markup and they have an Instagram, Facebook, Linked-In and WhatsApp group where there is a lot of interactions with the seniors and which has helped me a lot.
