Course Curriculum Overview
The course is well designed and equipped with the best subjects and material. The students were free to choose the subjects of their choice among the opyional subjects. These are really helpful if you want to go in content writing or research. The curriculum fully prepares the students for the future.
Fees and Financial Aid
I took admission in MA in English from Faculty of Arts, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. The year wise fees of the course was about 10,000/- a year as a general candidate, so that comes to a total of 20,000/- for the whole course. This feees included everything. The university offers various scholarships that are offered by Gujarat Government to the student.
Campus Life
There are various activities like drama performance, youth festivals and much more. The students can also participate in politics if they are interedsted in. They can also run for the office by joining any parties. The college also offers sports arena called as University Pavillion and have teams that prticipate at state and national level games.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms are alloted on the basis of availability, There are 4 seater and 3 seaters for Bachelors and 3 seaters and 2 seaters for Masters degree students. The mess serves 4 times a day. The students can pay on the spot for the choice of their breakfast and snacks. The lunch and dinner are unlimited servings and majorly consists of vegetarian meals with different options of dal, curries, rice and chapati with buttermilk. The hostels are very affordable but a person can easily find a good rent or pg flats all over the city.
Admission
I compared the college with the other local colleges as I did not want to move out of the city. I found it the best among them in terms of facilities and curriculum. As I am in Arts so I didn't have to face any rejections. The admission process is easy. You have to register on the website and then apply for the course.
Faculty
There were different faculties for different core subjects. So all the 7 subjects had different teachers according to their research and expertise. The mode is CBCS (Choice based credit system), here we are allowed to select the specialization of our choice from the given list of subjects. There is also an extra credit subject that can be chosen from the subjects offered by other departments too.
Night Life
The college has it's own cafeteria and Nestle corner. The library is open for all and you just need to register for it. The hostel gates for girls open at 6am and close at 8:45pm. The rollcall is taken from 8:45pm. The students can apply sick leave and out station after taking permission form the gaurdians. Fatehgunj is the best place for foodies to get affordable and tasty meal. Kamati baugh is nice refreshing garden with amusement area as well as designated open air gyms.
