Remarks

Faculty of Management Studies - Baroda is a part of the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda which is one of the oldest and prestigious educational institutions in India. The university is located in the center of Vadodara city spreading over 275 acres with good amenities however it is not located in a metro city and hence students face difficulty in finding relevant local internships and part-time opportunities. FMS-B does not have individual entrance examinations, the entire admission process is conducted and looked after by ACPC. Students are selected on the basis of their CMAT scores and do not need to go through any group discussion or personal interview rounds after the ACPC selection process. FMS-B is a government university and hence has a nominal fee in comparison to every other esteemed University and college offering similar facilities. Being located in Vadodara city, the cost of living for any candidate is low.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

In our university, all teachers are very helpful. All the faculty members are qualified for PhD and knowledge is great. Now as the educational system is broadly affected by covid , the faculties have to take online lectures which is also the first experience for them as well and then they managed to learn the new technology and to take regular classes. The student-faculty ratio is 10:1 (for 1st semester). Midterms are there nearly after one and half months of starting of 1st semester. And the difficulty level of the exam is good as questions that were asked were tricky which forces you to recall the concept and with your understanding answer the questions

Internships Opportunities

4

Many companies visit the campus for the summer internship recruitment process and offer variable roles according to their stream background as well as the company's requirement. ICICI comes first for the process and takes a good number of students for SIP. Then companies like SBI, HDFC, Alembic, etc come and give opportunities to 3-4 students. Also, many startups or small-scale companies come for the SIP.

Placement Experience

3.5

Companies start visiting the campus for the recruitment process during the third semester as students are eligible from after the mid-semester of 3rd semester. Lots of companies for the campus recruitments. Some of them are ICICI Bank, KYB Comment, HDFC Ltd., TCS, etc. The highest package was Rs 10.2 lacs by Federal Bank. It is offered to 5 students of finance background. The average package is Rs 5.5 lacs. 83% of students get placed and others remaining would have opted not to go for the process because of their family business or their will to become entrepreneurs.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are two sections during the admission process from the ACPC side 1) Grant in aid - GIA and 2) Self-finance institution - SFI. Also in both the sections, 2 students in each will be of TFW(tuition fee wavier) seat whose fees will be less. The hike in fees is not scened in the last 3 years. The other cost which stands other than fees is the cost of uniform and additional cost for Management Student Forum (MSF) which is the forum that handles the event, workshops in college.

Campus Life

4.5

YUVANTAS is the annual flagship event of FMS-Baroda that encompasses student as well as corporate participation. There are talk shows, industry interactions, and cultural programs to make the event fruitful for everyone. The faculty has a well-equipped library which is a knowledge and research center for students. It is well stocked with books, national and international print magazines/journals, and encyclopedias. FMS-B aims at a balanced blend of academic and sports activities for the overall personality development of its students. There are four academic clubs which are functional groups that encourage the members to explore the management routines, skills, and areas that they want to make a career in, through a lot of activities. These clubs aim to develop an overall competency by conducting regular exercises like quizzes, newspaper analysis, field trips, seminars, guest lectures, and much more.
