Remarks

Aissms college of catering technology and hotel management is a perfect place to learn about the hotel etiquettes and the academic education that they provide. They offer a huge amount of options of subjects to choose from and also provide you with abroad/domestic industrial training in the 5th semester. Overall an excellent college. Cons about the college can be that they can do better in the selection of students for the admission. Instead of choosing through quota seats, they can give preferences to open category students who excel with their merit. This way the quality of education also improves and they stand a chance to make their college's public image a whole lot better. Otherwise, they pose an excellent teaching staff and ace with their teaching facilities.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose this course because I had the instinct and a major interest in doing hotel management since I was in school. The faculty: student ratio is quite impressive as the faculty can easily figure out who is passionate and who isn't. They personally help and train the potential students and help to improve the weak student's skills and knowledge. Overall they take extraordinary efforts in teaching the entire class. Several presentations, out of textbook theories, various skills which come handy on hands while working day today in the industry, communication skills, presentation skills etc. Most of the faculty is from the alumni group and hence know the college academic status word to word. The term exams happen as per the fixed schedule which the uni releases. Even if students can't score well, additional assignments and mock tests are given to the students to improve their scores Of the textbook, the portion is never included in the exam syllabus.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Several places like Dubai, America, Mauritius, Maldives, France and India have certain hotel organisations that have a tie-up with the college to recruit students for the industrial training. A 3-4 step interview has to be attempted by the students to be recruited.

Placement Experience

5

The students are eligible for campus placements in the last semester. Companies like Hyatt, JW, Conrad, dominos, Radisson come in to recruit the students. A minimum base salary is offered to the students by the companies based on their selection of department for specialisation. A good 80% student population are promised a good package job by the companies. It also depends on your merit scores in the past 4 years. My plan after graduating is to do my masters in sales& PR abroad.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is affordable for all categories. The fee structure is broken down for the theory and practical academics and the additional infrastructure fees & essential needs etc. A government scholarship is provided by the uni to the students who are from certain categories of the cast. They can continue availing the scholarship on the word that their overall scores of every academic year are promising. The overall course can cost you 8-10 lakhs. The 5th semester industrial training promises you a stipend provided on the fact of the place where you working at. Initially, you pay a cost for the internship but that is covered and redeemed by the offered stipend that is given to you by the end of the training. It's a 5-6 months training which can happen either abroad or domestic. This industrial training is only offered for the bhmct course and not the BSc course. After the industrial training, the students are to choose their speciality subject and graduate with it.

Campus Life

3.5

An annual fest is conducted in the month of January called Athitya. A grand theme is chosen every year and all the students from 1st year to the final year and the whole faculty work more than their capacity to make this event a grand hit. Hotel management colleges from all over India are invited to this event. It's usually a 3 days event where several competitions are held and close with a gala dinner on the last day. In all a gorgeous event. Inspires a lot of teamwork and motivation and leadership skills. Aissms offers a big variety of knowledge based books in their library where books can be rented. Classrooms provide a capacity of 120 students and also have amenities for ppts and GD. An annual sports day is organised & several one day internships and educational trips are organised.
