Remarks
I chose Jaypee Institute of information and technology because it's a well-reputed college in Delhi-NCR. Placement stats, academic growth, the coding background is very good of this college. Variety of hubs and societies, cultural fests and annual fests, ethnic nights, and some events keep the enthusiasm of us, students, up throughout the year. One can get into this college through 2 gateways being merit basis i.e 12th board marks or your JEE score or percentile. One has to fill the online admission form and then you will go through counseling and will be allotted a seat accordingly. I preferred this college over others as this was best suited for me and recommendations from everyone of it is a good college. Quora, CollegeDunia, and many youtube videos guided me through selecting a decent college for me.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Electronics and Communication Engineering as it has a great scope and is an emerging branch in engineering. Faculty: student ratio of this college is 1:30 which is pretty decent in my view as a student gets the full attention of the teacher. Teachers here are mainly Phd holders, many have taught in foreign universities for years. The teaching method is very satisfying. Teachers try their best to make the student comfortable with the topic. The sessional exams schedule is a bit hectic. We have to go through sessionals every month along with quizzes, lab evaluations, and minor-major projects. Then there are end-seems. Sessionals are easy to pass as compared with end sems. The end seems having a few new topics and a full syllabus makes it a bit hard.
Internships Opportunities
Around 162 companies give internship offers to eligible students of 3rd year under the summer training program. Companies like Adobe, Amazon, Wipro, Infosys, Goldman Sachs, Top Hawks, Coding Blocks give pre-placement offers to students. There are some major projects to be done during 3rd year as a part of the course.
Placement Experience
From the 7th semester onwards, the student becomes eligible to sit in placement rounds for the job. From 6th or in some cases 5th semester onwards you become eligible for internship offers and a Foreign exchange program that allows you to study from the University of Florida 6th semester onwards which is a good opportunity for exposure and experience. 96% of the total student gets placed every year which is a pretty good number. Companies like Adobe, DeShaw, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Google India, Amazon, Zomato, and many other companies visit the campus making around 1500 offers. The HIghest package to date bagged from JIIT is 43.17 LPA offered by Adobe and second-highest being 34LPA offered to 7 students by DeShaw. After getting my bachelor's degree I might go for further education or take the job offered during campus placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees of this college are not that high as compared to other private universities as Manipal, BITS, and others unless you take hostel which adds upto a total of 16-17 lacs as these charges are inclusive of mess, laundry, swimming facilities, and others. Scholarship opportunities are there if u bag AIR under 1000 in JEE MAINS. Also, there is a financial assistance given to students whose family income is less than 8 lac per annum.
Campus Life
The annual fest of Jaypee Institute of Information and Technology, sector-62 is IMPRESSIONS. Held in March every year, IMPRESSIONS brings with it huge charm. Big celebrities like Maninder Buttar, Sukhe, Zaeden, The Local Train visit IMPRESSIONS. Apart from the annual fest, tech fest, ethnic nights, and other cultural programs are also held from time to time. There is a dedicated library building called Learning Resource Centre, a 4-floored building stacked up with all the required course books. Classrooms are well fitted with benches, chairs, board, and all required amenities. The campus has a basketball court, many squash courts but lacks in cricket or football ground as there is no space for a large field due to the small campus size of 15.5 acres. But college provides every possible opportunity to interested players through all inter-college leagues and competitions held from time to time. There is a group called LIGHT DE LITERACY which works for the welfare of poor students.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms are well maintained. There are only double sharing rooms available with AC vents fitted which work only during nights from 10 pm-5 am or 11 pm-6 am. There is a bed with a mattress, an almirah, a wall-fitted bookshelf for you to keep books and other things. There is a limit on data being 1GB per day. The meal provided in the mess is OKAYISH or average. It's edible. One has to register by sending an email to respective authorities regarding hostel accomodation and you get a confirmation mail.
