Remarks

I really opted for this college just because it was affordable for my family otherwise no facility like good faculty, placements and infrastructure is available in the college. Even the computer labs have LINUX installed from 2014 which doesn't work properly. The teachers who teach are freshers and do not have any knowledge in a related field. Our DSA teacher couldn't even code basic programs so, I would suggest students not join this college if they really want a carrier in computer science. Admission is available for each and every student who fulfils the basic eligibility criteria like +2 from the non-medical stream, passed all subjects, etc. And admissions are available from the month of May-August. This college can be preferred if you can't pay the heavy fees of other engineering colleges. I selected this college by looking at its reviews on Quora and Siksha.

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

I chose this course because of my personal interest. A very less number of faculty is available in the college. Even one faculty is assigned two or more subjects to teach in the same class. Faculty: student ratio is about 1:20. Most of the faculty is fresher who have recently completed their master's course or undergoing their masters. Only 1 or 2 senior faculty members who are dean and HoD are qualified. The teaching method is the worst. Teachers themselves do not have any prior knowledge related to the topic and learn from the internet and teach the students. If you are planning to get into this college and prepare for competitive exams like GATE then it is impossible by learning from this kind of unskilled faculty. Exams are scheduled time but to pass the exam is really very easy as they only teach 5-10 topics from each subject.

Placement Experience

0.5

Students become eligible in the 8th semester for placements. Only 2-3 companies with an average CTC of 2-25 LPA visit the campus. The highest package until now to 3 LPA and the average package is 2.5 LPA. 10% of students only get placed each year. I will be looking for off-campus placements after getting a degree from here.

Fees and Financial Aid

The university department is really very bad regarding the fee hike policy. They raise the fees and impose various charges upon students even when they do not have permission to charge the same. If students oppose, different sorts of mental pressure are applied to pay them. They even raise their fee during the COVID pandemic session when most of the private colleges were providing students with different kinds of privileges. However, the tuition fee is affordable i.e. 56,560 per semester. No scholarship except NSP which is provided by the central government itself is provided by the college. There is no financial assistance provided and even you cannot get a loan from the bank as the credibility of college is very low. It is quite difficult to get a job here because no companies visit the campus. However, if you manage to get a call centre job, you will be getting a stipend of 10000 only.

Campus Life

1.5

Campus life is really the worst. The annual fest is like the traditional Indian BHANDARAS and nothing more. Tech fest is also the worst fest you would have seen because they always present the same 10 years old projects made by college alumni. These fests are conducted in the month of March. Books are available in abundant amount in the library. Classrooms are well equipped but the labs are worst. Volleyball and basketball are played on a regular basis on the campus and a sporting event named LAKSHYA is conducted in the month of February. Students run a club named idea factory for students with knowledge of science and innovation.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

Rooms have good facilities with a table, chair, bed, and almirah allocated to each student. Meal quality is really bad if you are from a non-Punjabi background because they always cook Punjabi food which is not good in taste and even not good for health. You can easily register in the hostel by filling a form with basic information. The hostel is affordable with an average charge of 5000 per month.

Admission

They offer admission to everyone who applies because they have a shortage of students.

Other Applied Colleges

VIT | B.Tech.

Fee was unaffordable.

Students can sit for job drives from the 7th term. In our college, firms like TCS, Wipro, HCL, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra visit. Most jobs are in coding, support, or test fields. The top pay was around ?10 LPA for a dev job. The usual pay is 3–4 LPA for most jobs. Nearly 60–70% of CS/IT students get jobs. Core jobs are less for other fields. My goal is to work for 1–2 years in tech and then go for higher study or skill-based role in top firm or startup.
