Remarks
The internal environment of the college is very healthy. The campus is ragging-free, the teachers are very good, they help students in every aspect. The best part of college is extracurricular activities, during the year there are lots of fests, and other activities that gave a platform to students to express themselves. The college also provided study materials to students which are included in fees. The bad part of college is the college canteen, the food is not upto the mark and it could be more hygienic. I preferred this college over others because of the facilities, exposure, and faculty.
Course Curriculum Overview
During the course, there were six semesters. I chose this course because I wanted to pursue my career in the journalism field. The facilities are good. There were physical classes, timings were 9 am to 3 pm. Most of the faculty have completed their PHD. The teaching method was offline through books. They gave us timely notes of the subject and regular class tests were taken to measure the performance of students. In each semester there are 2 exams one internal and one external. Exams are quite easy to pass if you study well.
Internships Opportunities
During my college, I have done four internships. 1. High on Persona Magazine It was my first internship and it was unpaid. I joined as a graphic designer. I was responsible for creating and designing posters, pamphlets, design pages of magazines. From there I learner photoshop very well and design the rules. 2. Veer Arjun Private Ltd. This was my second Internship. It was in a newspaper. I joined as a reporter and editor. I was responsible for bringing stories and creating them, proofreading and sending them to the senior editor. I learner how to write articles, news for newspapers. 3. Channel One Private Ltd. This was my third Internship in a news channel. Here I was responsible for creating news stories and sending them further for broadcasting. Here I learned Hindi typing, newsroom rules, editing. 4. National Human Rights Commission
Placement Experience
Placements are provided by the college. College conduct placement drive for students from time to time. Students of the final year are eligible for placements as it is their high time in their career. There are basically four departments in our college BA (JMC), BBA, B.COM (H), and B.Ed. So companies for various departments come for hiring accordingly. I have done BA(JMC), few companies like AAJ TAK, ZEE NEWS, ALT Balaji, NDTV, Some event companies, advertising agencies, came for hiring. I am not aware of the highest and average package offered because during my time placement drive was not conducted in college due to COVID 19. I am planning to pursue Masters's in Event Management and Public Relations.
Fees and Financial Aid
If you compare the fees of LLDIMS with other private colleges, it is quite reasonable and affordable. My academic fees were 71,000Rs. Per year. During the course, fees were not hiked by the college. I didn't get any financial assistance or scholarship but other students got it. During the course, I did several internships. I didn't get placed from college but I got an internship in High On Persona Magazine in 2018 from college where I worked as a graphic designer. As it was an internship no stipend was paid. The cost to study is 71000 in 1st year, 70,000 in 2nd year, and 69,000 in the final year.
Campus Life
There were plenty of cultural fests which happened during the whole year. The 1st one is the college annual fest Zeal which happens every year in January. It happens for 3 days and comprises dance, singing, theatre performances, and other fun activities. Another one is the main IPU fest Anugoonj which occurs in February every year. Apart from these LLDIMS conduct various fests like a film festival, teachers day celebration, and other things to keep students engaged and provide a platform to showcase their talents. Classrooms are spacious but sometimes get humid. No air conditioners are there. The library is quite big and it has numerous books from course study books to fictional ones, students can avail the facilities easily. Few social groups run by students are Rotary Club, and students engage by making videos, rallies, and other modes on various social causes.
