IIFT- Mecca of Trade

IIFT is widely called the Mecca of trade and is known as the premier institution in the field of International Business. I have a background in International Education, and hence IIFT was one of my dream institutions. The institute has one of the best trade curriculums and has an incredibly impressive finance curriculum as well. Also, plenty of co-curricular activities take place, so there are opportunities to showcase your talent at multiple levels. In terms of improvements, the overall curriculum of marketing can be improved and made more relevant. The same goes for domains like IT as well as Operations. The institute has an incredibly bureaucratic method of operation which sometimes has its advantages but also its fair share of disadvantages. But apart from these points, IIFT is one of the most premier institutions in the country and ranks as one of the best institutions in trade and commerce in Asia.

The faculty-student ratio is very good. All the faculties are incredibly qualified, all holding advance PHD in respectable fields. IIFT has one of the best teaching curriculums when it comes to trade and finance. Improvements can be made in others. Exams are timely, results take a lot of time to be published, exams are very tough but can pass them.

Yes, they offer summer internship opportunities. Please visit the company website for seeing the number of companies that visit our campus. We have had JPMC, Citi bank, ICCI, DE Shaw, PWC, UPL, HUL, Godrej, ITC make plenty of offers. I personally had an internship with one of the most premier FMCG companies in the world and had a project in International Business and Exports. The project had a scope varying across several countries and it was a massively enriching experience.

From the first semester onwards students become eligible for summer placements. We have some incredibly big recruiters visiting our campus across all major domains. We have one of the most respectable campus salary averages across all B-Schools and have attracted some legacy companies on campus.

The fee hike is nominal but hardly any rebate was given during the pandemic. There is scholarship assistance given to students in need of them and students that are good in academics. The trimester is more than 2 lakhs per trimester and IIFT has one of the more expensive curriculums in the country

Plenty of Annual Festivals and competitions are there (Both in summers and winters). There is a festival in IIFT called Quo Vadis which incorporates competition from all domains- Marketing, Trade, Finance, Operations and even International Business. There are various events that are organized by the Social Cultural Committee, we have had plenty of celebrities visit our campus. There are several clubs, committees and students run by the student council. I am a member of the trade society.
