Remarks
The faculty at the college frames the very college with gold. The entire faculty has got 15+ years of experience and degrees from IITs, IIMs and foreign universities. Another great aspect is the placements. It is one of the best colleges in terms of ROI. Its ranked 13th in the NIRF ranking and although the rank changes a little bit, it stats among the top 20. The campus is beautiful and is one of the attractions. The college stands a little low if we talk about diversity. In my course, the entire batch was engineers and we had only eleven girls in our entire batch. The college despite all the merits is less recognised by people. When I got admission here, people in my locality had no clue about the college. So, in terms of brand, it gets defeated.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum consists of five components- Institutional core- 12*(3 credits) Institutional elective-6*(3 credits) Program core-8*(3 credits) Program elective-8*(3 credits) Summer Internship-8 weeks Field project The core courses include subjects like project management, operations management, Industrial engineering, marketing, HR etc. The student-faculty ratio is 9:1. The exam system is trimester based.
Internships Opportunities
497 students got placed in summer placements. 148 recruiters visited campus for summers. The average stipend stood at 1.59 lakhs. The highest stipend offered was in the FMCG sector with a figure of 3.4 lakhs. The average stipend for the top 50% of the batch stood at 2.41 lakhs. Major companies include Airtel, Eaton, Puma, Shopclues, Amazon, Oyo Rooms, Nestle, HUL, ITC and others.
Placement Experience
The placement figures are amazing. The average placement is around 22 lakhs. The highest placement is remembered is Rs. 58.28 lakhs CTC. A total of 128 recruiters along with 20 new recruiters visited campus for placement. Around 38% batch got placed on day zero itself. Key recruiters include Dorf Ketal, Castrol, L'oreal, L&T, Apollo Tyres, Myntra, Uber, Swiggy, RBL Bank, Aditya Birla Capital etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are 14.7 lakhs. The class size is 230. There is a scholarship available which offers a 30% fee waiver to students whose family income is less than 2.50 lakhs. I was one of the beneficiaries of the scheme. There is also a government scholarship called central sector scholarship which is offered to students who belong to SC/ST category. The stipend paid is very well. The financial assistance which includes loans is quite easy to get through as the college is very reputed.
Campus Life
The campus is well equipped and has a state of the art infrastructure. The location adds the icing to the cake. It is located in an industrial area in the very industrial hub of the country. The college has computer facility-access to online journals and lives database. The entire campus is wi-fi enabled and has also got a great auditorium. The AROHAN-an an annual festival at NITIE is enthralling. A few of the committees to mention is MBAlive, BT Acumen, STREET etc.
Interview Experience
My GD topic was clour blue. I found out to the pool of competitors I faced there was very creative and informed, some of which are my batchmates. The PI process went very smooth. I was told MBA PIs are quite cold. I found my PI experience exactly the opposite. My personal interview included questions on CSR policies of a few corporates, my experience with an NGO I was working with and a few questions from my graduation. A tip to all aspirants would be to stay honest and very clear throughout the process. Don't counter your own statements.
