Remarks
The best thing in SNIST is students create a learning environment within the campus to keep them updated and this is rarely found in other colleges. The PLACEMENT DEPARTMENT is also playing a good role in bringing more companies and also helping the students in fetching a job within the campus. The college pays more attention to placements by providing in campus aptitude training(CRT).
Course Curriculum Overview
My course was B.Tech and it is engineering and my branch was electronics and the branch was very good which has all related electronics as well as communication subjects and it had embedded vlsi and signal processing subjects and computer programming subjects as well as data base and so many subject were there in the course and the subject was very good but since it is based on JNTU curuiculum during my batch needed some changes to be made in that curriculum. But now the college has become autonomous so there might be a change in it.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like Infosys, Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) and many more come for placements. The basic stipend is from 8 to 10 k about 70 to 80% people get selected and they are placed and the college gives basic training in the third year about the interviews and their are many workshops about how to talk behave sit and how to present a proper presentation so the students will be confident.
Placement Experience
Coming to placements, more than 70% of the students will be placed in top MNC's. And the college placement department is doing a great job they are also getting succeeded in bringing more companies for the placements year by year. students will need to suffer a bit if they won't get the job in on campus placements. But they can manage to get one if they are really good in my opinion it's the students capability that weighs more in your selection process than the branch to fetch a job. Most of the students end up by getting placed in 4 companies while leaving the campus.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure the year when i joined before the fee is about 30 k per annum as years change the fee changes at present in 2016 the current fee is about 90 k to 1 lac but now a days everything is increasing so paying 90 k is no big deal for a good college it is one of the top ten college in Hyderabad so we can afford it but i thing they should decrease a little bit to 50 k so every one can afford it and enjoy his college life.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college had no scholarships but the state government had one scholarship program which is called fee reimbursement and it would be for poor people who are unable to study and their family income would be around two lack per year and the total fee was claimed by government and many of the engineering students got this scholarship and recently it has changes some rules and conditions to get this scholarship and the loan facility wasn't there when we were in college but currently loan facility i have no idea.
Campus Life
The campus life was beautiful and the huge building and infrastructure is very good as well as the atmosphere is very pleasant around the college and nice gardening. The labs also very good and every equipment would be there in the labs. The sports also very good and internal games like table tennis and chess badminton other sports were very good. The outer game like volley ball and basket ball coat also there. The events also conducted by students and workshops also conducts some times it would be very good college and ever branch has would be there which is class representative.
Hostel Facilities
Sreenidhi provides excellent hostel facilities for students Boys and Girls in Ghatkesar which is about 4.5 kms from the college. Transportation from hostel to college and back is provided. The hostel facilities are of high quality and well equipped. The quality of food is great and it also provides internet facility and every person is free in his,her rooms. The rooms are spacious and the food is good.
Alumni/Alumna
Sreenidhi formally installed an executive committee of Alumni Association through meeting of all out going final year students. Sreenidhi also brought out a publication entitled "Sreenidhi Spoorthi" which contains addresses, Telephone numbers and E-mail Ids of all outgoing students. It is necessary to maintain contact with the Alumni of the Institution. This works out beneficial to both. There are instances in the west and also in institutions in India, such as IITs that Alumni are emotionally attached to their Alma matter. The alumni contributed enormous amount of money for college development and institution of chairs in different branches of engineering. Alumuni visits college regularly for fests and the college maintains a good database of the alumni network. They were interactive and helps in clarifying doubts. One person helped me in preparing for competitive exams and everyone tries to share opportunities available with the college and also helps in conducting drives.
Exam Structure
Exams at snist are conducted in two sessions called internal and external. Internal exams are conducted by 30 marks where as external has been conducted for 70 marks. There are also credits given for exams, and we had lab exams too for 75 marks from which 25 marks where as 50 marks but the pressure of having exams is very low and students write the exams with much ease.
Faculty
The department is recruiting new lecturers but the thing i observed is they recruit the ones who have no industry experience and many of them have no teaching experience and they are given the jobs to assist the students in the laboratories for the 1st year and by the next academic year they will get promoted to teach the students and the promotion is done not by their merit or by the projects they have done and in fact they are not even allotted any projects to even gain the experience. Thus overall the faculty in snist are excellent with good industry exposure as well as research papers and thorough knowledge. The present faculty is not up to the mark n it's 40%good and rest 60% are average. But the good thing is that many of them are supportive even though they are not good in subjects.
