I really miss my college, i guess karunya university is one of the best and safest college to study in . it will also make you better person because of the spiritual environment we are though in.
Entrance Preview
Karunya entrance exam. I had around 60 percent of marks. I choose this college because only in this college there was electronics and media technology course. This is the course I really wanted, no other college in India provided such course.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course which I studied was electronics and media. Electronics and media course was only given by very few colleges. The course was the brainchild of our chancellor Dr.Paul Dhinakaran. The course structure was good . we had studio and PCR for media works and we got very good experience .
Internships Opportunities
College doesn't directly provide internship but they really encourage us to go and find the companies we like so they could help us get an internship there. Pay is not guaranteed. Some companies pay you other don't it depends on companies. Mostly students do the internship for experiences.
Placement Experience
Placement comes as whole for the college. department wise placements come very rarely but in my batch 2008-2012 the placement was good. A lot of companies came for placement such as Infosys, Wipro, TCS, cognizant, Accenture etc media companies do come but their placements are less. I was placed in big synergy after I was passed out.
College Events
The college had lot extracurricular and non curricular activities. Some of them are : EMT ( EVANGELINE MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT ) FOR SPORTS TOURNAMENT hamlet street for MBA department, it was also a kind of tech fest. The college had a lot of extra curricular clubs such as CHS, red cross, nature club etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is very feasible. Those who get through the merit seat in sports quota should not have to pay any fee. There is no capitation fee. 30000 Indian rupees per semester is the semester fee including hostel and food fees. Some times fee in odd semester will come up to 54000 Indian rupees
Fees and Financial Aid
There are some good scholarship programs offered by the college. College also as foreign exchange programs.
Campus Life
karunya has 600-acre campus. The campus is lush green . we have a lot of areas to walk around and spend time with friends. Very peaceful and spiritual. There basic amenities in the hostel itself and our campus is checked by security 24 hours a day.
Hostel Facilities
I think karunya hostel rooms and hostel are one of the best in coimbatore. The food are execellent. The hostel mess provides non veg four times a week and sunday and tuesday we have briyani ( veg and non veg) each year has theirown seperate hostel and hostel closes and its mandatory for students to be in hostel after 8.30. for both boys and girls. We have seperate hostel for girls and boys
Alumni/Alumna
The senior's students and alumni are very helpful. The campus has zero ragging policy. The aluminium or teachers will help us if we have any doubt in academics.
Exam Structure
exams and labs were very frequent but it was according to students convenience . the hostels were very near to the college so it was very convenient for the students . the exam structure was we had 3 internals and one main semester exam. we needed a combined aggregate of 50 percent for internals to pass the semester exams
Faculty
Most of the faculty were from media industry itself and some of the faculties were our own pass out seniors. We also had invited the guest from the industry like movies and channels coming and giving lectures. The teachers were very informed and thought us very well .we had given hands-on experience in all media field and was encouraged to work as intern
