Still remember my MACFAST.

The management was very good at providing us facilities free wifi ,cultural programs,a good library etc. .I cannot forget the college infrastructure and their efforts to maintain the campus as clean and green.

I had got 69% in my degree examination in 2007 and I had searched for a professional course.During that time I heard about this college which located very near to my home.I also attended the MCA entrance exam conducted by Govt. of Kerala.Once I went there to see the college and I was mesmerized.A clean and green campus.Nice architecture. Totally good.They received my application and later I was informed that I was selected on the basis of the marks which I got form my degree,interview and entrance.

The college was under M.G University and the curriculum was designed well.The university revised the syllabus in 2007.We also had subjects which was purely based on Maths like auto meta theory and statistics.In the 5th semester we were given an elective 'Distributed computing'.I the 5th semester we had a subject Data mining which has got many opportunities towards research even today.

We didn't have any internship which based on stipend. But as I have mentioned previously since Our principal was innovative,he started a program MACFAST Industry Interface.This was a virtual company which served as an interface between IT industry and college.The company provided training for us inside the Trivandrum Technopark for a period of 21 days.They provided us the technical training to start the career as an IT professional.This helped us a lot in our life.

We had a placement cell and one faculty who appointed as placement in charge. Initially the cell provided us training on aptitude test ,numerical ability etc and conducted some placement drives. Some companies like wipro came to campus for placement and through the connections of cell we got many opportunities to attend placement drives.Many of us got placements in ibs, accenture, CTS etc.

We had cultural fest related to Onam, Christmas and a prominent technical fest called technitrous. As the national festival, we celebrated Onam at the zenith of its joy. Everybody came in traditional dress and we made flower carpets, Pulikali and played sinkarimelam. We decorated our college with stars during exmas fest and actively participated in crib making contest and cake cutting. The famous techniques was conducted as the technical fest for one week with many events.

The fee structure was not that much expensive.We had an annual fee of 38,500 which includes tuition+lab fees.Apart from that there was a book bank system which every student is supposed to pay 3000 at the time of admission(refundable) and the text books were supplied by the college. We paid exam fees in every semester-I think Rs.100 for each paper. At the time of admission we paid an amount near to 30000(admission fee,uniform etc.).I remember there was no capitation fee.There was a caution deposit of 5000. What I remember hostel fee was 1500 per month which was not applicable for me since I was a day scholar.

Since the college was well reputed banks were ready to offer education loans.Some other scholarships were also given to students like those who achieve the university rank were offered a 50% discount in their tuition fee.I know three of my friends who achieved PM's Minority Student's Scholarship fro their brilliant result in academics.

We were 60.20 gents and 40 ladies.We all were good friends.We were beyond the belief of dividing on the basis of cast,creed,colour and ethinicity. We all were keralites.The criteria of dividing were best player of counterstrike game,master in downloading movies.Every working Wednesdays were given for a batch to conduct Wednesday meet which was a cultural programs.We enjoyed and participated in these programs well by singing songs,demonstrating comedy plays and presenting short films which were written,acted and directed by us.

I was a day scholar.I did not stay in hostel.But couple of times I visited there.The fee was somewhat near to 1500.The rooms were got good interiors .Large room with attached bathrooms.It was not on sharing basis. It has got wifi ,tv room ,badminton court and a well maintained library.

Every batch was given a nick name and we were known as SPARTANZ. We conducted annual gathering.The college also conduce alumni meet in every year and most of us are actively attending it.One interesting thing is that MACFAST has a custom of welcoming the new batch by the selected representatives of former batches.

Ours was a 6 semester program and we had university exams at the end of every semester.Apart from that the college conducted model exams prior to main exam.And every faculty conducted a unit test on completion of a portion.Practicals were conducted in every semester by university and prior to that we had a model.These days were not such hectic or leisure but the combine study helped us a lot to maintain not only good marks but also good friendship.

Those who got a first class in their degree and studied maths as one of the subjects could apply for the course and I was eligible.I bought the application form by hand and submitted.One day I received a call regarding the interview which is going to conduct on the next day.I reached the college at right time.I was interviewed by the HOD and director for personal and technical rounds.I was asked questions on my personal information,my plan on future, the purpose to choose this course,mathematical ability and some concepts in computer science.later I was informed that I was selected.

The faculties were well qualified.Our Principal Rev.Dr.Abraham was a reputed clergy man who was known for new innovations 'as a layman'.He was the founder of the college and What I felt he was always keen towards new knowledge and implementation of technologies. Our director-Dr.M.S Samuel was a well known professor of Mathematics who contributed a lot to the studies in mathematics.He was also a research guide for many students.Our HOD was a good diplomatic person who knew how to handle not only the subjects like C,algorithm etc but also the students and our faculty members were very friendly and mentoring.
