Remarks

I am interested in designing and I heard that VIT offers a fashion technology course which has a good scope in the future. So, I applied for the entrance exam through the website - vit.ac.in. And so I wrote an entrance exam called (vitee) . And I got 67772 ranks out of 100000. And moreover, during councilling, there were 53 seats left for fashion technology and that is more than enough. So, I just went ahead and applied for fashion technology. And VIT offers good education and they also provide guaranteed placements. So I just joined here.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose fashion technology because I have a great passion for fashion and designing and also stitching. And the faculties in my department are highly educated. We have 8 Faculties in our fashion department. They all are well educated and they are very experienced in the fashion sector and also they are well trained. Since we have a less number of students in each class, our faculties are more friendly and more concerned about each student. Since we are doing a b. Tech course we are instructed to learn some common engineering courses. And courses like calculus for engineering are some difficult courses to pass. But if we understand and learn, we will be able to pass any difficult courses like that. But when it comes to our department subjects it would be very easy and also interesting. However, the faculties would make it very simple and interesting while teaching. Especially they make our every class very interactive.

Placement Experience

5

VIT provides 100% guaranteed placements. The final year students, I mean the fourth year students are eligible for the campus interviews. So I heard that VIT offers good placements. And also in VIT, they provide internships for third-year students. Sometimes through that also they might get placed during their fourth year. So I have planned to get placed through VIT after graduating or else to do my pg.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is a little high in VIT but with respect to that in VIT, they provide all the required facilities, and also we have separate labs and equipment for practicing and learning. They also provide some scholarships for the 9pointers. So for scholarships, we have to get high CGPA. Since I am a second-year student I don't have much idea about the job placements, but they provide internships during the third year.

Campus Life

5

Campus life at VIT Chennai is awesome. We can get many opportunities to showcase our talents. There are so many clubs conducting events then and there. Especially in VIT we have some special days like technovit which comes during October and also Vibrance which is a three days celebration that comes during January or February. So on those occasions, every club conducts interesting events that would make us socialize among students and especially to showcase their talents. Some special events like DJ nights would be really awesome which comes during vibrance. So during vibrance students from other colleges can also come and participate in events and enjoy themselves. Moreover, VIT is a place to play, learn and grow.

Interview Experience

Yeah, actually for fashion technology it's not mandatory to write the entrance exam but I got in through vitee exam (entrance exam) only. U need not prepare for it but just go through the basics, like just go through the 12th-grade books. Because they will be asking questions from those concepts only. When I wrote the entrance, I had some questions from maths, physics, chemistry and a few questions from English. And it was quite application-oriented. But basic knowledge on the concepts from 12th-grade books would help it. So, then after doing my vitee exam, I got my score and I was called for counseling. In counseling, they gave seats based on the score we got. And for my score, there were so many seats available in different branches. But since I was very keen on taking fashion technology, so I had 53 seats left for fashion technology and so I just grabbed that opportunity. So this is how I got into VIT. So, for vitee exam we have to have the basic knowledge.

Other Applied Colleges

Stella maris | Fine arts

I got selected for fine arts here. But I was really interested in fashion technology. So, I opted for fashion technology at VIT Chennai.

The specific aspect which is great future on IT Field of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course. The curriculum prepared me to solve tough real-world logical aptitude test and coding test. The course curriculum is only based on the theory in several areas. My suggestion is to improve that too in practical manner for better real-world understanding. The frequency and the timing of my exams along with my perspective on the difficulty level is 2hrs.
