Entrance Preview

I gave AIEEE in 2006 and scored 78 marks and finally got IT engineering stream. Obvious point to opt for this college was its placements which were best in private colleges in Himachal during that period. My few friends were already studying there.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum was very detailed and covers every aspects of technology, the same was approved by HP University. Focus was made on practical knowledge with detailed knowledge of topic. Monthly tests and quarterly sessionals helped to keep the student focused in the studies apart from other co-curricular activities.

Internships Opportunities

No college does not provide internship, although there were tie ups with various companies for summer training's. Moreover there was not official internship programme in our course approved by HP University although for summer trainings, students can go and take trainings in live scenario in the companies having tie ups as well as outside companies.

Placement Experience

3

Before recession the placements and job opportunities were best in IEET Baddi and which became steady during recessions which was actually impact of global recession in work and economy. Otherwise, it was best for pvt. institution in HP when compared with other pvt. colleges of this standard.

College Events

4

Most exciting event was Tech fest called Emanation which was organised each year. This events consist of cultural activities, technical events, sports events as well star night event. Apart from this various other events like Debates, Robo wars, sports events were hold by college every year in which other colleges were also invited.

Fees and Financial Aid

Although college provided scholarships for weaker section and academically strong students, but i have not availed any such. Meritorious students get fee concession as well weaker section get loans on low rates from banks through college.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio was around 40:20 i.e. for 60 students in each class, 40 were boys and 20 were girls. Students from different states were studying in the college. Various cultural societies like Art of Living, Yoga etc were their. Their was no issue of any race/religion/sex politics/economic status in the college.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network and senior students specifically those which become very good friends during college time are still connected over social network and their experiences are still very helpfull. They still guide us in time of carrier difficulties and same we do with our juniors.

Exam Structure

Exam structure was like 2 sessional in a semester and one final exam. Assessment marks of sessional were added in final marks. Same is in case of practical subjects. Total 8 semesters in the degree.

Admission

Cleared AIEEE with 78 marks, central counselling attended wherein other colleges of HP were present and opted for IEET Baddi as per my score and ranking. The counselling was arranged by government for govt. and pvt. colleges combine. Selection were made based on the score in AIEEE with full transparency.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty was very good in terms of teaching as well as in helping the overall personality development of the student. Focus was made in the overall development of the student. Subjects were taught in depth with not only theoretical knowledge but also practical examples.

Placement Experience:

Students can sit for job drives from the 7th term. In our college, firms like TCS, Wipro, HCL, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra visit. Most jobs are in coding, support, or test fields. The top pay was around ?10 LPA for a dev job. The usual pay is 3–4 LPA for most jobs. Nearly 60–70% of CS/IT students get jobs. Core jobs are less for other fields. My goal is to work for 1–2 years in tech and then go for higher study or skill-based role in top firm or startup.
