My college experience

Manipal is one of the famous Universities in India having a great number of alumni. The admission process is bit easy all you have to do is apply online and attend a department exam during April and May. The college also provides ACCA subjects in its curriculum which helps in getting exemptions from ACCA.

I choose B.Com because I'm interested in accounting and finance. The faculty all are very well educated and mostly masters degree holders. They provide a very fine level of understanding of concepts. Manipal is very strict towards the timely manner of class completion. The exams are not that difficult to pass.

The college provides an internship during the course of the program. The students can choose there own company or college helps them to find one. The students mostly won't get any stipend. The college also keeps an interview after the internship to know the depth of understanding of the work in the respective companies.

The last year students of the respected department will be eligible for campus placement. Mostly E&Y has the most number of offers to the students with a package of 30k - 40k per month. Mostly 30- 40 students from a class get placement from a class. I am planning to do ACCA after my degree completion.

Almost 1.5 lakhs will be the course fee. They get increasing every year on average of 10000 bases. There is plenty of scholarship provided by UGC which benefit the lower-income group students too. The college takes many initiatives to bring up more companies to the campus and also the department has one of the good placement histories. All the big accounting companies do come for campus placement.

There are plenty of fests organised by many departments under MAHE. The annual fest of MAHE will be held in the month of March and April. The library in MAHE is one of the biggest having all sorts of the book which helps students in gaining knowledge. The classroom is quite huge with Air conditioning, fan, whiteboard, furniture, CCTV camera etc which provides comfort and protection at the same time. The campus is having a huge football ground, cricket ground and a hockey ground which students use to play every day. The college has almost 100+ clubs run by students in the field of social services, talent showcase, ability enhancement etc. VSO is the biggest social service club of manipal having more than 10000 volunteers.

All the hostels are well maintained and 24*7 guarded by warden and security. The hostels have Air conditioning and non Air conditioning rooms, single and double occupancy rooms. Meals are provided in some messes inside the campus both veg and non-veg mess. The menu will be fixed at the beginning of the year and will be timetabled. All the rented rooms and PG will be near to the respective colleges, maximum of 2km range.

There will be a written exam followed by personal interview. The topics in the admission process are related to the market and Commerce. The preparation is nothing big thing, a commerce student can easily provide them with the answers.
