Remarks
The college management was the worst part in this entire college experience, none of the students liked the management and there were always disagreement, I would say the management was fascist. There was also a strike conducted by the students in 2005 as the management had thrown out the college principal and students fed up with the management over mediocre facilities, We never had a college principal in the first 2 years of college and then we get a great man named Basavaraj which the management throws him for being student centric.
Entrance Preview
I had taken Karnataka CET in which I secured a rank of 7142, it was a new college with a familiar name which made me choose it.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was pretty well defined, it was a 8 semester course where the first 2 semesters are common across all the branches the next 4 semester would focus on your core subjects of your specialization and the last 2 semesters will focus on project work and electives. Each semester has 6 theory subjects and 2 practicals, except the last semester where you have 4 subjects and project work.
Internships Opportunities
When we were students 15 years ago the college never had any internship, not sure if they have it now.
Placement Experience
When we were students 15 years ago the college never had any placements not sure if they have it now. Most of us looked a job either via consultancy or through off campus, some went for higher studies, most of them ended up in call centers due to lack of opportunities.
College Events
We used to have an annual event held every year, it used to be large scale with almost the entire college participating including faculty with good food and entertainment, most of us used to look forward to this day every year and ensure it was a grand success.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Other than the normal fee recommended by the government, the college also used to charge some extra fees which comes upto almost double citing maintenance and infrastructure development, we used to have a fight with the management every year due to the ridiculous charges in the fee structure.
Fees and Financial Aid
I really doubt if any scholarship or loan facility was available that the college could afford. The management quota students used to get a discount if their scores were good.
Campus Life
The campus life was not all that great, we hardly had any facilities until the final year, The sports took shape only in the final year with a volley ball court, basket ball court coming up and also a foot ball ground and cricket pitch was made. The students were mostly from rural areas and the crowd was not that happening. I really wish I had a better college life.
Hostel Facilities
There was no standard hostel as such in 2001, a house was rented within the city as the college was in the outskirts with hardly any electricity. So the outstation students about 20 would live in a big house sharing rooms, it was pretty much fun, the mess never worked out and used to rely on small restaurants.
Alumni/Alumna
Since we were the first batch there were no seniors, but we as seniors were very helpful to the juniors. Thanks to social media all of us are in touch, other wise the college did nothing to ensure we had an alumni meet, they had even taken 2000 rupees from each of us in 2005 towards alumni fee and not once was a any alumni gathering sponsored or held by the college.
Exam Structure
There were 3 internals and main exams every semester, 100 marks from the main exam and average of the best of 2 internal assessment was taken into consideration which was out of 25. The max marks was 125 and minimum to pass was 50 where 35 had to be obtained in the external exam.
Admission
The process of Admission used to happen in a CET cell where your dates for seat allotment are given based on the rank that you have secured and the reservation category that you belong to. Once your turn comes you will be able to see the matrix on a very big board where you can choose the seat available to you.
Faculty
The faculty were mostly fresh graduates out of college, some were really good and some did not even know how to communicate, overall the faculty was not all that great. We had to rely on notes from other colleges or tuition in order to secure good marks.
