Remarks

Good - well equipped labs, very helpful and experienced lectures, located in the heart of the city no ragging within the campus, Bad- No wifi, poor placement opportunities, Below standard infrastructure.very small campus sports/extracurricular activities least encouraged useless rules and regulations.

Entrance Preview

I had joined Vemana IT in the year of 2011 through CET exam. My CET ranking was 26545.As per my ranking,i had few colleges shortlisted and among them Vemana IT was the best.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I had opted for B.E in Mechanical Engineering.i had a lot of expectation from this branch of engineering as i was very much interested in machines, automobiles and manufacturing. However, after few semesters of the course,i realized that my expectations were very different from the actual course curriculum of VTU. I was interested in more of practical oriented course which was not the reality.I would blame the college because every VTU college would have the same curriculum.

Internships Opportunities

No, our college wasn't able to provide any internship to the students therefore i am not aware of the general stipend and the experience however, we students were allowed to accept internships externally.

Placement Experience

1

Our college couldn't provide us any significant opportunities regarding the placements very few companies had visited our college for recruitment and not many were selected by the companies most of the companies offered very low salary packages which were below industry standards.

College Events

1

Our college had organised various technical conferences, debates and discussions including few national level meets. Participation was really great and these events were of great success. Additional to this,we had cultural fests every year which let us showcase our talents and develop them.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As i was admitted to the college through CET exam, i had to pay the fixed CET fees and that very much feasible. However, COMEDK and management fees were different and those fee structure weren't as feasible as the CET fee structure. However, each college has their own fee structure.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not aware of any scholarship or loan facilities that were offered to us by the college.Hence i wouldn't want to comment on this field.

Campus Life

1

Gender ratio was more or less equal.( specific to each branch ) labs are well maintained and equipped. Extracurricular, sports and competitions are not encouraged. However college is well disciplined no harassment or violence is seen within the campus.

Hostel Facilities

1

As i was a day scholar, i have no idea about the hostel facilities and food they offered for the people staying in the hostel. However as per the feed backs from my friends i have understood that the hostel facilities weren't that great and the food they offered were pathetic.

Alumni/Alumna

As i m not in contact with any of the seniors i am not eligible to answers this question hoping the seniors are helpful.

Exam Structure

We had internal test happening every month in a semester we had three internal tests for which the syllabus was a few units and in the end of the semester,we had the final external exam for which the syllabus was everything from the beginning to the end of the semester. It wasn't that hectic and was able to manage.

Admission

My admission in this particular institute was through CET exam. My CET ranking was 265454. After a month, i was called for the counselling process in which i was supposed to choose the branch and college. After this process, i was supposed to visit the college for the admission process.

Faculty

3.5

Faculties of the college were highly experienced and their level of knowledge was amazing. They were more than happy to help us out and clear our queries. Learning experience with these faculties was highly appreaciable. Periodic tests and discussions helped us a lot and motivated us to learn more.

Placement Experience:

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
