Remarks

The management is actually worth mentioning. The whole semester is pre planned and structured really well by the management. Except for the hostel management guys, everything else runs smooth as silk here.

Entrance Preview

I took IIT-JEE. It wasnt much of a difficult choice, although the exam was not so. I scored 170 in JEE Advanced and it got me here. Personally I thought this was the best IIT in terms of the almost everything. I am disappointed a bit.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Its the best there is. With the right faculty teaching , it certainly builds up the interest in you, towards research. The curriculum promotes it very well among the students. You can choose where to do your Free Electives from ( as in which department in the institution). So it basically broadens the boundaries, in which your interests are built up.

Internships Opportunities

Yes. Stipends basically depend on the companies. The procedure is just like placements. You will get really good internships if you are up for it and prove to be the best in a particular area.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements are good. On an average around 9lpa CTC will be the package. Top companies like Mc Kinsey, Goldmansachs, Schlumberger comes to the campus everytime. They offer really good packages, around 30 lpa. Around 80 % of the students who apply for placements get placed every year.

College Events

4

Technical festival is known as Shaastra. Its one of the biggest festivals celebrated in a college in terms of participation, size and popularity. A much more popular fest is the cultural festival, Saarang obviously. It has more attendance and more events which gather the eye of the common pubplic more. Pro shows include a DJ night, a popular night featuring any well known artist in India, a Rock show and a classical night. Its an awesome experience all in all.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Currently its a tad on the expensive side. With the semester fees tending to 1.5 lacks , for newly joined btech students. (Academic only, Hostel fees separate and comes around 21 k). Our batch has only lesser fees , which is around 50 k.Its not feasible for everybody for sure. But there are various scholarships available for those who can not.

Fees and Financial Aid

SBI here offer loans to students at a reduced interest rate. There are scholarships for OBC -NCL category students with the annual income less than a particular amount which I am not sure of. They have to only pay around 12% of the academic fees.

Campus Life

4.5

Cant talk about gender ratio very much. Its on the zero side to be precise. Number of girls is really really low ,compared to the number of boys. Only in the HS department, you can find an amazing tally of girls , beating boys in number. Which actually offsets the depression in us to a bright side. Although the culture is a pretty diverse one. People from all over the world are here. Students who are on exchange from foreign universities help a lot in that diversity factor.

Hostel Facilities

3

This is the worst part if there is one. Hostel life is amazing. You get single rooms, with much more personal space. But the mess is a living hell. The food is like shit to mention the least. Most of them cant adjust with the menu here. But things are changing quick enough. Standards are being raised, and quality is improving.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is pretty strong and resourceful. Although I have no direct experiences, I know friends who got recommendations while apping for higher studies and all that. They are very helpful too.

Exam Structure

It is not chilled out per say. First month is pretty chill. Then comes quiz 1. A month later comes Quiz 2, and then again a month later will be end semesters. In the middle some courses may have a mid-semester exam instead of quizzes. So will have to handle that too. But it wasnt really loaded up or anything

Admission

JEE is a two step process, not to mention the work rate required. JEE Mains and then advanced. JEE mains will have a score based clearance for qualification, for Advanced. From advanced scores alone will be the rank generated and admissions are done exclusively based on ranks.

Faculty

5

They are top class. They all are well qualified with their PhDs and post doc s from renowned universities around the world. Most of them were amazing students from their time too. They all are really passionate in what they are doing. They are really helpful in the process too. We can feel free to get their help at anytime, given they are not busy with other things.

Only a mediocre or poor placement opportunity is available, a main factor which has caused the poor placement record is the remote location of the college and small student strength. Because of the low student number, most IT mass recruiters are not ready to come here
