Remarks

Food Technology being a unique course and IIFPT being one the two colleges under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries is one of the main reasons to opt this college. The valuable infrastructure and the paperworks done in this Institute also makes it a better option to choose for any research study. The city where the college is located, Thanjavur is one of the tourist destinations of our country also adds up to opting out this Institute as a student who stays away from home.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum seems to be bit tough, but with well learned faculties and well equipped labs this toughness can be changed. Academic department has been a bit down considering the results and pass percentage. The faculties are well experienced in their fields with most of them having a doctorate in their own subjects.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements has been increasing recently. The companies visited here include Nestle, naga foods, symega etc.

College Events

3

We enjoy a good campus life here even though activities seems to be less. Freshers day, open day iCraft, etc. are some of the extra enjoyment you can have here. The Institute also holds many seminars, workshops etc. regarding various topics. The students club here which include the science, cultural, nss, sports also holds a number of activities and sessions for student engagement.

Campus Life

The campus may seem small but infrastructure wise it stands amazing. We have a well equipped basketball court, volleyball court, football ground and badminton court indoor. Students here have free access to wifi all over the campus and library is well filled with books. Labs are too good with most modern equipments installed.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are well set and equipped. 2-3 students share space in a single room. Hostel has separate dining hall with TV for recreational purposes, gym, indoor sports such as table tennis, carroms are also available here.

The curriculum we have is set by the government so we can't change it but when it comes to an elective subject we can't choose it, the college decides it on behalf of the students. for a semester there will be 2 cycle tests a model exam and then the final exam. they will train you well so you can easily get above 80% in your final exam if you follow their instructions.
