Remarks

It is near my house, the transport is good, also the college has all the subjects which is preferable since it means it's a big college. My parents also suggested that the faculty and placement of the college is good.

Course Curriculum Overview

Our college is under Calcutta university and hence has to follow course curriculums strictly. So yeah, it is updated and my college hasn't opened since the Corona virus so I don't know the rest of the details

Course Fees: INR 6500 per year

Placement Experience

I dont know yet but I have checked the college website. It only shows TCS as a placement offer. I don't know further details yet.

College Events

The fests arent too big, it's a government college and the budget is low. I haven't yet been to college due to the coronavirus situation but I hope there will be fests and scope of participation in various things.

Campus Life

I am a first year student so I don't know yet since I haven't been physically inside the college yet. But as far as I know, the facilities aren't too over the top since it's government college but the quality of academics is really good.

Reality of IIT KGP

Placement Experience:

Placements depends on your skills Usually there is a compulsory internship at the end of 3rd year If you didnt get it via college you should do it from outside but its compulsory And at the end of 4th year you get placement. Placemeng isnt 100% . If you have the skill you will get placed thats the criteria.many people say you are in IIT your life is sorted .but that aint the reality

Placement Experience:

The students can apply for internship via Career Development Centre in the beginning of their pre final Year. they can go for off campus intern whenever they want. Most of the goo companies would come and mostly for software finance consulting etc. The placements start in the second last semester as far as i know. The competition for placement is getting really high these days

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

SURTECH REVIEW

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university is MAKAUT so the curriculum is up to the mark. I liked Programming so I chose B.TECH in CSE. The curriculum is very basic in terms of practical world problem though they are building blocks, but you need to do the extra bit of work to qualify for the real world scenarios. I think more mandatory projects integrated with current set of skills would be a cherry on top. Exams are very frequent like every 3-4 months there is a semester exam and they are moderately difficult.

Remarks:

Placement for IT streams is very good but not good for the core stream. Infrastructure and campus beauty are very good. Faculty are average. Canteens are slightly costly but foods are ok. Hostel and Transport facilities are available.
