Remarks
Everything about the college is pretty good. Nothing bad to say. Looking at the faculty, infrastructure and the quality of education, I would definitely recommend this college to every student aspiring to work in the business of the enterprise field.
Entrance Preview
I took MAT, UGAT, JUET, and KUCET. I always wanted to make prospects in the enterprise world so I chose this course. I had no other options, this course was my only goal. I was among the top 20 in KUCET and thus was given this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was exceptionally well designed. The whole course structure was designed as per the UGC guidelines. The 10-month programme included five periods, each lasting eight weeks. At the end of every period, there was an assessment (exam, essay or project) and a short break. The first half of the programme was built around 14 core courses, which provides a solid understanding of the key management disciplines. The second half of the programme, offered an unparalleled range of innovative electives, all taught from an international perspective. One could tailor the programme to meet specific needs and career objectives by choosing 11 electives from a selection of more than 75 courses (offered across both campuses). While some students prefer to concentrate on certain disciplines, such as entrepreneurship and strategy, others choose to take courses in a wider variety of subjects to prepare for a career in general management.
Internships Opportunities
My internship experience was a good one. I worked with Bislary for about a year and learned a lot ant management with them. My overall experience was very nice. Apart fon this company, a lot of other companies like HDFC, Mother Diary, Cadbury, etc visited the college. The general stipend was around Rs 8,000/- per month.
Placement Experience
Placement and job opportunities are quite high. Every year over 20 companies including National and Multinational companies visit the campus and over 80% of the students get placed. At my time of studying there a total of 23 companies visited the campus and 45 our 70 students got placed. The visiting companies included, Mother Diary, Wipro, HDFC, JKBank, Bislary, JKInfotech, IBM, Vodafone, etc. The general packages offered were around 2-2.5 lac. I myself was placed in IBM with an annual package of Rs. 2.5 lac.
College Events
The college celebrates every technical and cultural festival with zeal. It annually holds the College Day where the most bright students in various field are awarded and felicitated. Besides this, the college celebrates the International Project Managemt Day, Techfest, Techkriti on a very large scale in which students from different colleges of the state participate. All these festivals are held on a state level.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is quite feasible. Students have to pay after each semester, i.e, after every six months. The semester fee is a mere Rs 20,000/- including the proctor fee, picnic fee, and the library fee.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is a scholarship for the top 2 students of the college. The student securing the 1st position gets a scholarship of Rs 50,000/- and the one securing the 2nd position gets a scholarship of Rs 25,000/-. I was the second position holder and received Rs 25,000/- Besides this, students belonging to the poor class are also helped financially by the college distributing a sum of Rs 7,000/- per student among them each year.
Campus Life
Campus life is pretty amazing. I've enjoyed my stay in the campus a lot and got a great exposure. The college hosts a lot of extracurricular activities like inter departmental cricket matches, football matches, debates and lot of other compititions. The compititions are also held at the state level, and are pretty interesting. Infra structure and labs are also very good. The college has zero tolerance towards indiscrimination on the basis of caste, religion, economic background and gender. All of the students are treated equally, irrespective of which class they belong to. Any indecipline in this regard is dealt harshly.
Hostel Facilities
If I had to rate the hostel and mess facilities on a scale of 5, I would give it a 4. The hostels are pretty clean and very spacious. The rooms are well ventilated with 24/7 supply of water and electricity. Food quality is also very good keeping in mind the average rentals to be paid. The hostel fee is around Rs 55,000/- per year including mess.
Alumni/Alumna
The college had an Alumni Association who are all the reputed and eminent personalities of the state. I didn't have much interactions with them but once had the opportunity to interact with Dr. BK Singh one of the members of the alumni and for me it has been the most memorable one.The seniors are always ready to help the students whenever needed. Seniors are very helpful and keenly discuss all the issues of the students.
Exam Structure
Exams are not very frequent. They are held six after every six months. Labs are scheduled for only 2 days a week making life pretty easy and enjoyable in the campus. Two internal assessment tests are held in between to assess the students.
Faculty
The faculty was pretty good. They were highly qualified and masters of the subjects they were teaching. The teaching standard of the teachers was very high and they very well understood the knowledge level of the students. And did their best to clear our concepts.
