Remarks

This college is one of the good colleges for english honours. I am a pass out from girls school so I am not familiar with co-education society so I opted from a girls college. The course fee structure is affordable for our parents.

Course Curriculum Overview

The syllabus pattern followed by Calcutta Unuversity is vast and enables us to study different books of literature and novels. It is easy for me to cope us as I have passed from an english medium school. We get exposure mainly from teaching sectors in schools and colleges.

Class Size: 40Course Fees: INR 20000 per year

Placement Experience

As a student of English Honours we do not get so much of opportuntiy for job placements. Doing master degree is compulsory for us to get a job. We donot have placement faculty in our college for most of the subjects. But a student willing to go for a job can apply through refernences provided by our H.O.D.

College Events

Our college life is going very good. Our subject has given us opportunity to participate in many events and extracurricular activities like Inter college debate and quiz competition. Last year I participated in Inter college Fashion Show as hosted by Xaviers college and I was the 2nd runner up.

Campus Life

Our colleges infrastructure is not so big and developed. The space provided by the college should have been more as per required student. But our classrooms are well enhanced with furnished bench and tables and projectors insatlled in most of our classes. We have college wifi with access to limited students only.

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

The placement record in my college is preety good. 80-90% students are already placed this year. Average package is around 9.5lpa. Companies like ICICI, KPMG, PWC, Vedanta, Mother Dairy and so many are coming for recuiting students.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

The life in HITK

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placement in cse, it ,ece and sometimes elec branches. The others dpt also offers a quite unique variety of placements from different companies. Nearly 60 percent of the students have been placed in this year and others are still on board for a positive response.

I had applied for the English Honours course there through their website. We had to upload the required documents. The college will take multiple merit lists after the admission process has ended. If you have your name there in any of the lists, you'll get an SMS from the college for the admission fee payment. Once you have done the payment. You're a student there.
