D. Y. Patil University provides hand on experience imparting training in both practical and theoretical aspects of the hospitality management. Situated in 68 acre spacious campus of D. Y. Patil university at nerul, Navi Mumbai is an ideal setting for a hospitality and tourism studies department. The college is well connected by rail and roadways with nearest cities like mumbai, thane, panvel. The college has well equipped kitchens, bakery, confectionery, training restaurants, dining room, front office, housekeeping, library, cafeteria and training hotel. D. Y. Patil campus also has a stadium named D. Y. Patil stadium where many sports match and concerts take place giving us hand-on experience again.

Course curriculum is quite futuristic and provide use progressive education training scheme to impart, through training both practical and theoretical knowledge of every phase of hotel, catering and institutional management. Students are provided with industry experience from the first year. Industrial visits are planned almost every month giving each and every student to show their talent and expose themselves to the atmosphere. Faculties at D. Y. Patil shts are a nice blend of academically and professionally experienced people. This gives them a rich viewpoint that combines the practical with the theory. The SHTS is having a very operative and effective training and placement cell which fulfils the dreams of students in arranging their 22 weeks industrial training in star category hotels which helps students get an opportunity to get accommodated in national and international hotel chains, restaurants and catering outlets. SHTS has a 100% placement record since 2005. Brands like Taj, Marriott, Sahara star, The lalit, Hyatt regency, Four seasons, Renaissance, The oberoi group and many many more hotels visit our college for training and placement programs.

Apart from regular academics, the institute encourages and promotes a lot of extracurricular and cultural activities in order to help students develop themselves into well rounded personalities. Students participate in various youth festivals organized by other colleges like space, enigma, malhar horizons, etc.
