Remarks

SCMS is one of the Top 10 BBA colleges in India. It is located in a good city, Pune. I was selected only in SCMS Pune and Flame, and between the two, SCMS seemed the better choice. It has better placements, environment, social life and learning opportunities. I wanted to pursue BBA, and this is a BBA college, not one with mixed streams or many options.

Course Curriculum Overview

The college is only for BBA and provides academics in 6 specializations - International Business, A&F, Marketing, HR, Entrepreneurship and Environmental Management. The course structures seem pretty updated with all the assignments helping in keeping up, based on recent events. It provides a lot of exposure and experience through the workshops and webinars, which were conducted by Industrialists, Entrepreneurs, Businessmen, etc. Most of the faculty have been doing a good job. They are knowledgeable.

SCMS Pune is highly known for its placements. With a rate of around 96%. We have had companies such as KPMG, PWC, Talent Corner, Calvin Klein, UPS, Amazon, etc. It provides domestic as well as international placements.

College Events

SCMS is known for the balance it provides between Academics and CCA. It has two inter-sectional fests for the First Years, one academic/business based and the other cultural-based. It also has the annual college fest, Sympulse, which provides exposure and experience. The college also attends many fests of other colleges, including out-station ones. Students have travelled to Indore, Banglore, etc.

Campus Life

We have one big building which includes the Administration department, finance department, FY+SY+TY classrooms. It is WiFi equipped throughout the building and can be used without a limit. We have a library as well as computers that can be accessed. We have an auditorium, amphitheatre, canteen, mess, Cafe Coffee Day stall, stationery shop, juice centre, gym, infirmary, football and basketball grounds. The campus also has parking spaces for 2 and 4 wheelers.

Placement Experience:

From 7th Sem, students are eligible for placements and undergo placement training. Many companies has visited so far but the big ones are Godrej, BEL, Framatome, etc. The highest package for mechanical was 7.5 LPA and the avg package was around 5 LPA with a majority of job roles as GET. For campus placement students from 3rd year for my course are eligible. Highest package for my course is 3 LPA. Companies like oberois , hyatt etc . If I'll get better placements then I'll go for it otherwise I'll do masters.

Placement cell is quite good. Students are eligible for placement in their last semester of course. There are many great companies that come like JP MORGAN, EY, KPMG. Average package of the college is 5-6 lacs but there are high packages according to the skills of the student. I'd like to go for master's after BMS. Different kind of roles are there for students to apply according to their interests in all the fields like finance, marketing, HR, consulting. There is training provided by the college for placemens and there is personal training for individual company interviews if required by students.

I chose Symbiosis because it offered International Business which is of my keen interest. When I contacted other colleges and enquired about this course, they said they don't have this course or some said "we're not sure". I mean how can they be not sure of their own curriculum? And I applied only to SYMBIOSIS. Now I'm in my final year and dual specializing in International Business and Marketing. For the admission process, firstly fill the application form and then they'll also conduct a mock test when main entrance exam is around a month away or smtg. And then Symbiosis Entrance EXAM (SET EXAM) happens. After qualifying that,the student is shortlisted to WAT (written assessment test). It's like an essay writing test, you will be given a topic and 20mins of time. Lastly it's the PI (personal interview) and then merit list or not depends on student performance....Read More
