Internship Experience

Remarks :

Our college was within a few kilometres from my home, so that I could be a day scholar. There were a lot of seniors from my school itself, who were already studying in the same college. From them, I knew the experience and skills of the faculties and departments. Also the infrastructure and hospitality is an additional point that cannot be ignored. The college website helped me to have a basic idea about the college. Apart from the other colleges in our area, I chose MBITS due to the suggestion from the alumni students and teachers.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Apart from all the other streams in engineering, I chose Mechanical Engineering as mine, because I had always wanted to learn about machines, vehicles and their aspects in production, effects on the environment etc. The faculties of our college is the best of what I could get. They're all Mtech graduates and some with more educational qualifications. They're very keen to help us with any doubt, any time of the day. Term exams were held according to University calendar and for any student who follows the faculty can not only just pass but get good scores.

Internships Opportunities :

Internships are done at the end of first year, which is compulsory. I did my internship of a week in a well known industry FACT, in Kochi. Our faculties were okay with us to do internships of even a month. They support the choice of the students, no matter what. We can also take a break of upto an year if we're interested in doing a startup.

Placement Experience :

Students start getting placement training at the end of third year and we start attending placements from the beginning of the final year. Many well known companies like Infosys, Cognizant, White Rabbit etc had come and there were packages of 30,000+ salary per month were offered. A lot of students who are eligible do get placed in many companies. As I've got placement too, I'm currently hoping to join there and build my career later.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Our college has a lot of scholarship plans. I was admitted with a merit based on my marks. It varies to different students. For students who can't afford a big amount there's a reduction given and also they let us a time span extension to pay the fees. Apart from the yearly fees, there's isn't much of expenses for a student. Also, as they promise you with placement, you get yourself a job even before you pass out.

Campus Life :

The annual fest, tech fest and arts fest are the another best factor about our college. Students and teachers work together to bring the best out of it. Not only we're made to study and learn, there's a large space for each student to showcase his or her talent and be enjoyable with in these days. In these days, students become extra active. To say about the library, it has a wide variety of books and novels that we can use and reuse without any problem. Also, to add, we've a sports day of our own, in which I must add, we've had a football team that won in the university final. The other social groups in our college were, readers group, photography group etc.

Actually placement cell is a bit week the company's is not that reputed and they offer monthly salary of 12k to 15k. Probably some startup companies. And many students choose that and work for 1 or 2 years to gain experience and then they apply for better opportunities.

From the 3rd year onwards we could attend placement interviews and many companies used to approach our college but mostly IT companies as I was in civil dept the construction companies were very less or NIL. In our batch, most of the students got placed and many offer letters but the only disadvantage was the offers were not from the core companies.
