Remarks

You can never be very sure about the College management. Sometimes they can be good to you but sometimes you can see there wraith fall upon you.

Entrance Preview

MH-CET, Admission process is pretty simple. No interview. just come and take admission. Score upto 75 is more than enough for this college. I took admission in this college because sinhgad brand is quite well known in pune and UOP has good reputation.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Course curriculum kept on changing from my batch. I took admission in 2012 and that year was the change of pattern and examination year. So we had a new course structure to study and completely different pattern of examination to go through which really made things so much more difficult.

Internships Opportunities

UOP does not have any internship credits so no use of doing. You can still do that if you want at your own risk in any company you desire. As summer or winters breaks are too short(less than 15 days) most of the time, you are at your college's mercy for doing internship.

Placement Experience

3

Placement and job opportunities are fine. You sit in placement with all the other sinhgad group students. Good Companies come and students get job offers. More than 90% go to IT Companies like Infosys Accenture and Cognizant. Nvidia and other big shot companies also come but nobody gets selected in them.

College Events

1

Sinhgad Karandak is the flagship event. It is the best college fest in maharashtra. Its scale is comparable to mood indigo of IIT Bombay. This fest makes you feel you are in some big institution. Full week of complete enjoyment with 100s of event spread across various colleges of Sinhgad Group. This year we had Live concert of Jay Sean. Entry is free

Fee Structure And Facilities

fee structure is reasonable.4 lakh for the BE degree is pretty much ok. But students with free fees of fees to the tune of 3000 is also common thing. Backward students rule here.

Fees and Financial Aid

You get scholarship if your SC/ST/OBC and also if you show that you come from an EBC qouta. This is only applicable to students of Maharashtra.

Campus Life

1.5

Campus life is bad. There is nothing in the name of extracurricular activity, its only good during college fest times. More than 90% of the students are Maharashtrian. Crowd in general is bad. If you come From a good school(ICSE/CBSE full time), you will hate things badly.

Hostel Facilities

2

Hostel is very chilled out. You get hostel for 1st three years. Hostel has a wifi connection which is nice and works out fine. Outside students can also stay sometimes illegaly. My hostel stay was excellent. Enjoyed like anything did things which wont look good saying over here. Mess food sucks. After 1st year I rarely ate in my college mess though I had to pay the mess fees irrespective of whether I eat there or not. For final year I rented a flat ner my college. Sun Universe 3BHK, rent is 16000. It is the best society in this area. In other societies you can get a 3BHK flat in 10-12000 but the facilities would be compromised.

Alumni/Alumna

No Comments. Senior Junior interaction is very low. I dont know a single senior student.Alumni network is non existent. Senior Junior intercation is only seen when one of your batch-mates fail a year.

Exam Structure

Exams will happen throughout the semester. In 1st 2 years you will face two online exams of 25 marks each and an end sem exam of 50 marks every semester. Online exams are more of a luck thing. Theory paper checking is super strict, UOP is known for that. From 3rd year onwards you will have a mid sem exam of 30 marks theory internal and end sem exam of 70. exam is pretty hectic and it takes a toll on your mind.

Faculty

1.5

Bad in general. Some teachers are good and unbiased who are genuinely interested in betterment of students. Most of the teachers are very biased and they have 0 knowledge about the subjects they are teaching. they would even go on to the extent of outsourcing teaching work to students.

The campus placement is decent in the college as compare to other colleges of the city . many companies visited the college every year to hire the skillful engineers from the college and offer them a good amount of package. The option of the offcampus palcement is also there for the students of the other colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
