Remarks

Because of Journalism, Don Bosco and St. Xavier's were the only college with such a course and as I couldn't get into Xavier's, Don Bosco was my only choice although it did not turn out to be such a great one since the course changed to mass communication from mass media and journalism.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

They need to work harder at being consistent and proper when it comes to teaching or giving notes. Many students have complained before but I feel this is particularly in the mass communication department where they lack basic activeness.

Internships Opportunities

We have to complete a month of internship as we move from the first year to the second and then the third again. But we do not get paid, all the internships were done with media channels in Goa.

Placement Experience

0.5

We do get companies who visit but they are not exactly for mass communication students, companies like technology and other business appproach us and give us a talk but its really not helpful since its not part of our course. Also for a fact that we do not get placements either.

College Events

2.5

Great, we have many events hosted inside and outside college, we also have individual class projects where we not only student cultures but also have fun in the process of learning them. We do have many colleges participating in our events and we do participate in many other events as well. We hold one many college events and sub events by each department in the college.

Campus Life

2.5

It has wifi, a big football ground, has a basketball court, and an oratory with indoor games such as table tennis and carom. We have 3 computer labs and two big halls where we have our events. We have one library and one four toilets.

Placement Experience:

Students can start sitting in placements from the start of 4th year , when the Placement Division starts bringing companies to the campus. The average package for CS is around 20-26 LPA, for Electrical branches it's around 18-24 LPA and for Mechanical and Chemical it is around 13-16 LPA. These figures would've changed though from the last time I saw. Around 85-90% of the students get placed usually. Top notch companies like Google, Microsoft , DE Shaw, Arcesium Cohesity Rubrick recruit students every year for the tech roles and other prominent companies like Flipkart, Sprinkle, Intuiut and Coin Switch come for managerial roles as well. There is even a chance of getting a PPO through Summer Internship Program which kikstarts in the 3rd year where students compete to get internship in these top companies. Overall , BITS Goa has impeccable placement statistics

There is a dept for placements. 70 to 80 percent people get placed woth average package of 20 lakhs per annum. Mostly ot depends on interviews and how good internship you get in 3rd year. Cg plays a very imp role too.
