Don Bosco college Panjim

The college is pretty awesome. It focuses a lot on sports so we have one of the best physical education courses to offer and a state of the art sporting facility. All classes have a smart projector. However there is room for improvement. a bigger library is needed, also a better canteen facility and better classrooms.

The course curriculum is amazing. We have more practical and field work, and less of theory so we get field experience. The exams are conducted after every semester. In a year there are two semesters.

The college does provide placement and job opportunities. Internship is also provided however one can opt to take up an internship elsewhere if wanted. The stipend depends on the company where the internship takes place.

The college has multiple departments and each department organises an inter department event every year. There are also a number of inter college events organised by various departments. The main college event is "meteora" and is the biggest event the college organises. Other colleges are invited.

The fee structure is not that expensive, neither is it that cheap. Different courses have different fee structures and also the fee structure changes depending on the semester. Also the fee structure keeps changing over the years.

The college does offer scholarships, but no loan facility. Scholarships for sports, business administration and social work are offered. The criteria to avail the scholarships can be found on the college hand book or one can speak with the college principal.

There are a number of extracurricular activities that are offered. Sports is one of the major activities of the college. Field trips, industrial visits and a college tour once a year are organised. As a mass communication student, we are often taken for press conferences and press releases and other media related programs.

The alumni network is pretty strong. Seniors are always helpful, always promoting job opportunities. They also often help in sponsoring the college for events. Alumni from the college are very influential.

I approached the college office, purchased a college prospectus. The college prospectus comes with an admission form. In the admission form I had to fill out my personal details and previous college details and other details. Then I had to submit the admission form to the college office, later there was an interview with the principal of the college and with the manager of the college. Once approved, admission would be granted.

The faculty is very knowledgeable and caring. They meet the mindsets of the students and are always available with useful advice. They are quite friendly and supportive and are always encouraging students to take part in competitions and events.
