Carmel College for Women, a Christian college, was established in 1964 to fulfil the long felt need for an institute for higher learning for women in Goa. Carmel College is situated on Margao-Cortalim highway, nestled at the foot of the hills, it is an excellent place for study and reflection. It is managed by the Sisters of the Congregation of the Apostolic Carmel, a Roman Catholic Congregation. The college is a NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) accredited institution. It has been awarded B++ grade by the NAAC, which is an autonomous body appointed by the University Grants Commission.

Facilities

Auditorium	There is an auditorium with a seating capacity of 700 with good sound system and musical instruments.
Classroom	There are 26 classrooms out of which 8 have been designed in amphitheatre style. Some classrooms are equipped with overhead projectors permanently and L.C.D.
Library	The College has a spacious library with a built up area of 3,718.22 sq.m. and can accommodate 200 students. The total number of books in the library are 26885 including 22803 textbooks and 3771 reference books It subscribes to 23 journals and 43 magazines on annual basis
Hostel	The hostel building consists of 40 rooms spread over three floors and accommodates 100 students on sharing basis.

CARMEL COLLEGE MALA

Dislikes

The college is under construction works now, so it's not that much beautiful at some point.But it will be alright soon.
The college is converted to mixed starting from this year (2024) so that's not fun to not have make seniors ( As a boys opinion).
And finally it would be there no huge grounds like others to play football in wide range ,but you can play 7s here smoothly.

Admission:

I chose the this college over others cause they called first after i applied for admission.And I also wanted to make new friends and spend time together.Finding new friends and knowing about others is best feeling for student can have.

The college experience

Likes

The sports complex was really fun itvhas different indoor games
The public area were always clean and tidy could relax and study anywhere within the complex

Dislikes

The que line in the office at times where there would less ppl in the office to help with stuff

Admission:

I also applied in chowgle and the elgiblity was passing with a min percentage of 60% , students with more percentile are accepted easily then those below i got accepted after a week when i already did my admission in carmels of course the college had better variety but it was far my place as well admission process incarmels was easier compartively and soon

Life at carmels

Likes

There is a huge campus area and there is also a basketball court there is a football court and the also a gym where students can workout after their study session
As a Carmel College student there are many things that I like about this college there are many things like the teachers the staff the students and the surroundings a very peaceful the people around me were very nice and something that I appreciate
There are different sports which are practiced in the evening like football table tennis badminton and overall the college canteen is also superb

Dislikes

There is a lot of bullying that takes place because mostly because the college isA woman's college and there is a lot of competition and jealousy that goes around
Sometimes the people here also toxic and it is difficult to approach the students as normally they have their own friend group gangs and they don't appreciate a new student in it
That is a lot of back talking that takes place in this college and mostly only then students that studies and have a good percentage are targeted the most and the others are neglected

Admission:

The admission process was pretty simple as I was already a part of Carmel College and I was given the priority there were no exams that had to be answered separately to get into the college the only thing that I did not like about the admission process is that the admission handling stuff was a little rude

I have given entrance exam before the admission. the elegiblity was 50% so I was eligible to fill the application form. After that the result was decided and I got selected. then I joined the college and completed my master's degree in management in the specialisation.

It's the best college. The college has provided many facilities such as drinking water.the toilets are maintained well as well the sitting arrangements under the trees besides this the college teach us that we should take care of one and all and stay unite in every situation
