Remarks

The college takes admissions on merit basis. You need to have 60% or above to get enrolled in your specific subject. They offer subjects such as mass com and journalism, sociology, pol SC, [hons] B.com and B.sc. The college is located in a peaceful area in Dagapur. They take new admission around July- August.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I was interested in doing journalism and this college offers the course hence I took up mass com & journalism as my hons subject. Each department has maximum 3 faculty members who works efficiently to fulfill the needs of the students. Exams were held semester wise. One year had two semester. All together there were 6 semester exams that the students had to sit for. The students had to secure above 50% to pass the exam

Placement Experience

4.5

The college doesn’t offer any placement facility however they do make students capable enough to get placements in good companies. After my graduation I Am planning to do an internship with a news agency.

Fees and Financial Aid

As it is a private college the fees was costly. We had to pay the fee semester wise. Once a year we had to pay the annual fee of around 28000 and 11000 after every semester. Perhaps there was no scholarship facility in this college.

Campus Life

4.5

The College don’t organise a grand fest However they do some small street plays in special occasion. There are many books and journals of your choice in the library. The classrooms are well furnished and are cleaned regularly however there are no ACs in the classrooms only on the practical labs. The extracurricular activities are minimum in this college. The college has social service club and the college runs its own newspaper house.

Interview Experience

5

They take admission on merit basis and no personal interview or group discussion was held. They straight away take admission on merit basis. If a student has secured 60% or above in their 12+ they get admission straight away.

Generally Internal and Final exams occurred in every semester and the Academic pressure is not so much.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course turned out to be very interesting and as a student who is interested in practical activities, it has helped me to explore parts of me that I was unaware of earlier. Due to my interest in writing this course was extremely helpful for me and it gave me a chance to figure out and sharpen my skills. The college consists of about 600 students and 40-50 faculty members. Mass Communication particularly had 4 faculty members and 15 students in one semester. The faculty members have all completed their respective masters and almost all are pursuing either Ph.D. or higher education. The exams were held twice every 6 months, one from the college- internal examinations and the other one by the university- board examinations. It was from the syllabus itself so it was not as difficult however the university exams did take it a step ahead and made it difficult for the students at times.

Every college has its own good and bad side. And asutosh is my college I don't think I will give much negative remarks about my own college. But I think they should be more attentive towards practical works and internship because now-a-days field experience and certificate matters the most.

The positive point if that the faculty members are good and helpful. The infrastructure is the best they could provide,be it labs or canteen. The activities are great too. The negative point is that they are very unpredictable with the exam dates or holiday dates, one cant plan well because of it.Also, they should provide food for the hostel students.
