A time well spent

In Karnataka we have a common entrance test know as CET. Around 2 to 3 lakh students give this exam every year after 12. Based on the 12th standard marks and CET marks a ranking would be alloted to every individual. Based on the ranking we get to select the colleges. In CET the better the ranking the better college you would get.

The college provided with many courses such as Electronics and Communication ,Electrical ,Mechanical ,Civil, Computer Science and Information science. As i had taken Information science i would speak on this. The course curriculum for Information Science was provided by the Visvesvaraya Technological University and the teacher had to follow the same .

BTLIT is not much known for its placements. We had very less companies coming for placements in our college. Because of which the students in BTLIT had very less opportunity for an internship or a job and if any student could make through the interview they would get a low stipend amount of 3000 to 5000.

Placements and job opportunity in BTLIT are less compared to other enginnering colleges in bangalore. We had very few companies that hired for a proper job role that is as software engineer positions. Most of the companies that came hired for tech support and BPO jobs.Companies that came to campus were IBM and HP for tech support and gave a package of 2.01 to 2.3 lakhs.Only TCS had come to hire for software engineer post with a package of 3.25 lakhs.

The college management conducted many events every year such as Inter college fest and a Footbal tournament where various engineering colleges in bangalore were invited and different cultural competation were held. Football was a major sport in our college and many teams used to participate.

No scholarship or loan facility were offered by our college. But there was post metric scholarship provided by the government which was a loan cum scholarship where most of the students have applied and the student who have availed this had to pay some amount of money when they start earning.

Campus life was amazing as there were lot of extracurricular activities ,sports, inter department competations conducted every year. Most of the students participated and it was great fun.Gender ratio for computer science and information science courses where equal in fact the female ration was much higher than the male in these departments. where as in civil and mechanical engineering the ration of the male was hire that is about 80%.

We had 3 internals in a semester which were conducted every 2 months and a semester exams once in 6 months. we had different internals for labs after the 3 internals for 6 subjects what we had every semester.Overall we dint have exams or test like every week or month so it was pretty much chilled out and we enjoyed this part of our college life.

The college faculty where really good. They helped us in every possible way to learn and score better in our external exams. The teacher in our department were highly qualified and well trained in teaching. 90% of the faculty had a more than 20 years of experience in teaching and this was something really good about our department.
