Remarks
Closer to my house, Great hospital affiliations, College Reputation and Access to curricular and extracurricular activities. KEM is known for its clinical expertise and has better PG prospects than any other physiotherapy college in Maharashtra.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is good but improvements need to be done so as to include latest developments and more focus should be given on research facilities. The faculty is a bit disappointing, the teachers have immense knowledge but are too busy in gossip, 80% of the syllabus is self-learnt by the students. KEM has a good name but only the Faculty of Physiotherapy needs to be blamed, other depts do their job well. Of the 10 teachers in the dept, only 4 are good that too if they are in good mood.
Placement Experience
College doesnt organise for placements because most of the students pursue Masters for better job prospects. Those who do apply for jobs are mostly selected. Alumni help in securing fellowships and observerships in great companies and hospitals.
College Events
Seth GS Medical College keeps on hosting multiple academic as well as cultural events throughout the year. Be it Quiz, Talent competition, Paper presentation or Fashion shows, GSites excel in all of them. All the events lead to the Mega Medical fest called as AAVISHKAAR, a 4 day gala filled with lots of fun, competitive games and thrilling entertainment. Medicos from all over Maharashtra and India come to participate in multiple events or just to enjoy the fest.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tata scholarship is available if you score more than 80% in that particular year's University exams.
Campus Life
Way better than expected. Students who are interested in sports will really love the campus, we have courts for almost all the major college level sports both indoor as well as outdoor. The next best thing is our completely air conditioned library, medical journals, reference books on almost all the topics will be available here. Plus the ample space for reading or studying is massive boon. The infrastructure sorts of lessens the pain caused by the more than incompetent faculty.
