Remarks
The college commences with the orientation program in which the students are familiarized with the staff, college canteen, library and traditions of the college. Our college promotes social gathering and it is compulsory for us to become a member in clubs such as sports, entertainment, cultural activities, music/dance etc. Avadh has been ranked as number 1 college in Lucknow and is still a symbol of quality education and extra curricular activities.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure revolves around the national/international political structures. The subjects studied are concepts of political theory, constitutional theory & government, public administration, global politics, modern political philosophy, public policy etc. The course gives the students an idea about how the government functions and teaches the people how to analyze and interpret the political system. The course duration is three years and our exam type is based on semester basis.
Placement Experience
The job areas includes International organisations, Business firms, Administrative setups, Public service, Government, teaching, media & journalism etc. The average salary ranges from 3 to 6 lpa. Job roles offered are market researcher, budget analyst, political scientist, public relation manager, political campaign manager etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees for three years is 18,758 which from my point of view is quite nominal as compared to the other colleges offering the same course. This fee structure includes tuition fees, exam fees, admission charges, security deposit amount, health insurance etc. Hostel rent and mess fees are not included in it. They need to be paid separately.
Campus Life
Events such as fruit bonanza, calligraphy competition, Dumb charades, nukkad natak, trash to cash etc are organised by the college club in order to bring out the creative side of the students. Dance & music competitions on contemporary and Sufi theme was also held with a solo singing competition which always enthralls the audience. The NSS scheme helps in the personality development of the students by making them participate in volunteering services.
Admission
You need to have passed class 12th with 50% marks from a recognized university. 5% relaxation is given to students belonging to SC/ST/OBC category. Admissions are purely done on the basis of merit. If your name appears in the merit list you will be called for a counselling session which will later be followed by interview session. The students who are selected their name will appear in the college website and they will be granted admission in the college.
Faculty
The faculty members are very experienced in their respective subjects and most of them are Masters or Phd degree holders. They impart us in depth knowledge about the different dimensions in which the political system functions such as law and order, study of government, social economic practices etc. Moreover they also tell us about the relative fields that we can choose in future such as civil services, research, teaching and many more.
