Course Curriculum Overview
The course duration is three years divided into six semesters which revolves around the study of heavenly bodies, Earth, its features & phenomenon. The subjects of study include map and scales, physical geography, maps projection, representation of climate data, economic geography, introduction to remote sensing/field survey report/ hours GIS etc. We are also trained on report writing and cartography through presentations on thematic atlas & field reports.
Placement Experience
The students are recruited in fields such as business, tourism, research firms, finance etc for the posts such as Land use analyst, Development surveyor, Regional planners, Cartographer, Remote sensing specialist, Coastal zone manger and many more. The highest salary offered was 12 lpa and the minimum ranges from 4 to 5 lpa. I am not sure if the internships were provided by the college itself or not in this course.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The tuition fees for one year is 42 rupees with a nominal amount of 3 rupees as admission fees. The total for one year is 7,586 which is very affordable and reasonable amount if considered for a one year fees. The grand total for three years is 18,785.
Fees and Financial Aid
Financial aid in the form of books/fee is given to meritorious students of B.A and B.com who belong from economically weaker sections of the society. This facility is only available if you write a letter or application to the coordinator. Welfare scholarship are also offered to students belonging to general, minority category and SC/ST.
Campus Life
Every year in our college a fest known as intra collegiate or 'Cultural Week' happens where the students showcase their talents related to painting, dancing, bakery, reading/writing, pottery making, clay modeling, wax statues etc. The literacy club of the college encourage the students to participate in quizzes, elocution, essay writing & other creative activities. The club also publishes a annual magazine known as 'Avadhite' every year. The sports club also organises indoor and outdoor sports activities for students to enhance their physical and mental development.
Admission
Admissions in this college are done on the basis of merit which is later followed by a interview round. The merit will be prepared on the basis of marks in class 12th from a recognized university. 5% relaxation is given to the students belonging to reserved category. If clearing the cut off in the list the candidate would be called for the counselling session. Admission will be granted after all the documents have been perfectly verified.
Faculty
The teachers are very friendly in nature and they focus in developing our reasonable arguments with team work and planning that are critically important for the course. Visiting faculty describes us in detail about the topography, land & attributes, fundamentals of remote sensing, agricultural geography, demography & population etc so that we gain more amount of knowledge from them.
