Six months Student Training Program (Agricultural Extension) at IIPR

I am so glad that I completed this course, it was busy like anything, but I was so thrilled everyday. This is the kind of institute that changes your view of everything around you, now I am sure of what I am going to focus on in my research, and I will be fully prepared for it beforehand.

The course curriculum is designed very specifically. I had opted for the one on Agricultural Economics under the Agricultural Extension department. There were regular lectures, presentations, lab work and practical assignments. At the end of the course, you have to submit a thesis or dissertation.

For this degree there are no placements or job opportunities, though I will let you know it does add a lot of credit to your resume for when you will be looking for placements. But the training and practical work have greatly improved my employability.

The fee structure is thirty thousand rupees for the entire six month course, if you take the three month course, it is twenty thousand rupees. The fee is definitely affordable and worth so much more.

There was not much time for extracurricular activities, we did attend a few seminars, and went for a field visit. I was in awe of the laboratory, it is fully equipped with the latest technology and testing.

The Indian Institute of Pulses Research has two six month training programs in a year. I had applied for the January to June session. The application is online, as per the prescribed format and with all the required documents.

The faculty is wonderful, it is a bit scary to be around such intellect, but you get acquainted, and their lectures are enlightening. They broaden your vision, and you are free to ask as many questions as you want.
