Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture [CISH], Lucknow was Establishment in 1972.The college aim is to undertake basic and strategic research in order to enhance the productivity and develop value chain for major and minor subtropical fruits. The institution seeks to make use of proactive, novel and innovative research approaches based on cutting edge science and provides learning facilities for individuals to master in this field. Their vision is to augment the share of agriculture sector in general and horticulture in particular in the GDP of the country and its export basket. The objective of CISH is to contribute to increase productivity, quality, exports and income of farmers engaged in cultivation of these crops.

Yes, CISH (Central Institute of Sub Tropical Horticulture) Lucknow offers only PhD course (Doctorate of Research) to the students. It is offered in Agriculture specialisation.
