Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum for Physics Honours is very informative. There are a lot of practical subjects that make it interesting. There are not too many subjects which is good. Exams are held every semester and evaluation happens on the basis of those exams.

Placement Experience

There aren't too many opportunities for placements but some companies do come to recruit students after graduation. Most companies are interested in recruiting students from Masters so the placement facilities for M.Sc in our college is good. However, Shivaji Science College trains us so as to improve our interviewing skills.

College Events

There are a lot of festivals celebrated in our college starting from Holi and Diwali to Freshers Farewell and Fests. Our college is very inclusive and makes students feel at home. Workshops and Guest lectures are also held.

Fee Structure And Facilities

This college has government branches as well as non granted branches. I studied in the non granted branch so my fees was a little higher. I paid 12,000 for a year. So, that makes it 36,000 for the entire course.

Campus Life

Shivaji Science College gave a lot of importance to sports and other co curricular activities. We had a lot of events and competitions where students participated in different cultural events and sports tournaments.

Admission

I applied for admission to Shivaji Science College after my boards result. The application process is very simple. You have to fill out the application form online with the required documents and then the merit list is released by the college.

Our faculty was very good. All the practical teachers were very helpful and took lectures to make us understand all concepts before asking us to perform the practicals. They were very helpful both in an out of the class.

The Placement Cell is responsible for the placement process. It is not very streamlined. Getting a job is considered tough, usually, the student has to search for it themselves. The average package offered is about 4 Lakhs which is okayish. Usually, students go for masters in Europe which is one of the best options. About 40 people apply for placements out of 180 students and out of that about 20-30 get placed.

I choose this college because Nagpur's RRMNU Shivaji Science College is a very reputed college and teachers and even non-teaching staff is too friendly. This college comes in top colleges in Nagpur. And that why I decided to choose this college. Something bad about this college is its exam system and outdated syllabus. Even though that syllabus is not much relevant to today's daily basis we have to study that old syllabus and hence we are lagging somewhere in today's coding era. The admission process for this college is very simple and easy just apply for admission through online websites and wait for the selection day. Once the day comes you just have to go to the college and select your stream by verifying your valid documents to the teachers.
