B.Tech ECE from SRMSI

The course here is both theory and practice oriented. The exam structure of SRMSI is same as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) as the college is affiliated to the UPTU. Semesters are filled with exams like unit tests, mid-term tests and semester-exams along with lab exams. Along with normal lecture classes and practical sessions maintains individual courses on Computer Science which hosts the Syllabus, Lesson Plan, Lecture Notes and other reading materials to conduct Value added courses like Cyber security, Machine Learning, Robotics Process Automation (RPA), Internet of Things(IOT), Data Science and Big data Analytics, Interactive web designing and Progressive Java and Android Application Development.

During my third year, I did my internship with Qualcomm provided by the Institute and the stipend was ?9,500/- and I learnt a lot in those three months. In our final year, we had our on-campus placements. Almost 95% of the students got placed in reputed companies. Some of the top recruiters were Texas Instruments, Toshiba, Qualcomm, TCS, Wipro and many more. The highest package offered was Rs 11 LPA and the least was Rs 3.6 LPA. Our college organizes regular training programs to enhance our employability. The training programs mainly focuses on enhancing the soft skills, technical skills related to our majors and programming abilities. In addition to the co-curricular activities, we are always loaded up with a wide range of value-added courses to improve and refine our overall potential.

Here at SRMSI, studying for the four year B.Tech degree program is quite high. Total cost of studying is almost ?4,60,000/- including extra charges for study materials and other study related expenses. Also, there are plenty of scholarships available for meritorious students and some need-based students.

Our college hosts many great events. They are classified as two types of events, namely Cultural and Technical. Cultural programs include singing, drawing, debate, poetry, dancing competitions and many more. Technical events include talent showcase (technical), circuit debugging, line follower, hackathons, coding competitions, gaming tournaments, and other tech related events. The college also hosts many inter-department and inter-college sports tournaments on basketball, football, cricket and many other indoor and outdoor games. Periodic guest lectures, workshops are organized by the college to give an edge in the career over other college students. This facilitates us to enrich our knowledge and to update according to the current industry trends.

SRMSI has a highly strong Alumni team who are placed in well reputed MNCs? across the globe from Cognizant, Microsoft, TCS, Amazon, Qualcomm, AMD, etc. Despite their busy schedule, they make themselves available on the campus to help other students during the placement training process by conducting mock interviews, group discussions, guest lectures, and motivational talks.

During my class 12 itself, I decided to pursue my higher education in Electronics and Communication Engineering as it gives versatile career options as one can shift to either Electronics or Electrical or even Computer Science. So I chose pursue B.Tech from SRMSI as it has got one of the best faculties in ECE in Uttar Pradesh and the best faculty of SRMSI is the faculty of ECE. I appeared for the JEE Mains and I was selected through my rank in JEE Mains.

Though the main focus is on our academic excellence, faculty members do motivate us to participate in technical activities for enhancing our fundamental technical knowledge. The faculty regularly encourages us to participate in various inter-disciplinary and industry sponsored contests as well as cultural events in and outside the college. The Faculty at the institute are qualified, experienced and have a good teaching styles. Rather than acting as teachers they act as mentors. There is a heterogenous blend of faculty with faculty having 2-4 years experience and also those having over 20 years experience. Most of the Professors have a PhD degree and are great contributors in their respective fields of study.
