Course Curriculum Overview
With a strong emphasis on fundamental pharmaceutical subjects like pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, and pharmacognosy, the curriculum at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) is reasonably current and well-structured. Building theoretical foundations and getting ready for advanced coursework and competitive exams are two benefits of the curriculum. However, there is a lack of industry-focused training and hands-on experience, so self-learning and internships are necessary to prepare for the real world. The syllabus should be updated to reflect the demands of the modern workforce, more skill-based and application-oriented learning should be included, and case studies and projects should be used to enhance teaching strategies. Semester-by-semester exams are moderately challenging and emphasise theory and memorisation over real-world application. The curriculum is strong academically overall, but it needs to be better integrated with real-world applications.
Placement Experience
Placement cell does provide opportunities for getting placed in many organisations, however the primary focus is on just getting students placed regardless of organisation's reputation and the job profile. The placement process begins from 7th semester. MNCs don't approach this college for the course, which a very big backlash. Highest package offered was 4.2 LPA and average package was somewhere around 2-3 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
All students, regardless of their category (General, SC, ST, OBC, or Management), pay the same amount. Fee for the first year: ?1,10,000 (Includes fees for online college applications and admissions.) Future Years: ?95,350 annually Dissection of ?95,350: Cost of tuition: ?82,450 ?9,500 is the student activity fee. ?2,500 is the registration fee. ?900 for medical insurance There are no additional costs for lab, development, or caution. Batchmates from different categories pay the same amount, and the fee is the same for all categories. The entire cost of the course is ?1,10,000 plus ?95,350 for each additional year. There hasn't been a significant annual increase in the fee structure. Internal scholarships are not offered by the institute. For students admitted through state counselling, the only available financial aid is the UP Government Scholarship, provided they meet the eligibility requirements.
Campus Life
There are many clubs and events that are organised throughout the year, the primary club for cultural events is Aayam which organises cultural events on a monthly basis, technical club Bit Brain also organises technical events that includes poster presentations, quizes and technical games. Sports Club organises annual sports meet through which students are selected for zonal competition. Student run clubs are also present.
Admission
I chose this college as it provided me with a location that's prime to corporates. The admission process was pretty simple, if you've appeared for UPCET, you need to choose the college while sitting for counseling and if you're taking admission via management quota then you need to approach the registrar early. You need to have an affidavit if you took a drop year.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio : 1:20 There's a faculty feedback program after end of every semester through which students can give their feedback on the faculty. There are many faculties who are capable of explaining even the most technical things in a simple manner and the lectures the faculty provides online on YouTube are helpful to catch concepts if missed in the class.
Night Life
During College's annual fest and hackathons students get to stay in the campus late. Campus has a beautiful temple, cafeteria that has reasonable priced food, a giant library that's updated with latest books. Campus also have girls, boys and faculty residence. A huge ground for sports. An amphitheatre and an auditorium for events.
